Shana so you already had the surgery? I didn't know your surgery date was so soon. Anyway glad things are going great for you. Keep us updated.

shanalouis - I totally agree. I was psyching myself out over the surgery and such but all in all it was quite easy and recovery for me was quick. It helped that I was going to a surgeon I felt comfortable with and actually spent time talking to me and even last minute explained things again so I'd relax and said the decision was still up to me. All of that made me feel much more comfortable and it went great!

i agree 100%. SARPE has been a pain in the butt because of the expanding and the gap but

even this hasn't been that bad

when i get my LeFort in 8 months or so i'll be totally prepared. sure it's an overnight in a hospital but really should be sooooo easy at this point

Thanks Shanalouis!

I'm so glad to hear that it's not that bad. I'm having surgery sometime after easter, and I must say that I'm really eager to get it overwith! I will get my surgery date about two months before the surgery, and I guess it's going to feel a bit more "real" once I get the date.

How is the amount of swelling around 3 weeks post-op?

I hate to be the voice of decent......But what I went through with having both jaws (lefort 1/bsso), chin and my nose done all at the same time was insane (and that also includes being wired shut for 10 weeks). Though a complete success, it was such a tramatizing event the jury is still out if I went back in time and had a choice to do it again whether I would knowing what I know.

Now I doubt most people will have all the work I had done and probably not the breathing complications either, but this surgery is no walk in the park. When an attending surgeon tells you in your first consultation that he is "going to break your face", one should know they are in for a Hell of a ride!!
