Only wearing top aligner?

I am on my last aligner for my first refinement (original 10U/10L, refinement 10U/5L) and I am not happy with the way my bite is coming together. My ortho told me today to wear just the top aligner all day and leave the bottom one out during the day. He said that will help my teeth "find" each other so my back teeth come together better.

He also said my arches are nice and rounded now, and he feels I am ready for retainers. I'm not entirely happy with where my bottom front teeth land against my top front teeth (bumping them, which is what got me into Invisalign to begin with). His response is that my teeth need to settle and then he can fix the front teeth with a bite adjustment to tweak the Invisalign result.

Does that seem odd to anyone? I'm not convinced that I don't need another refinement and I'm afraid to okay the retainers if there is settling to be done.

Teeth not meeting correctly can really hinder your bite and mess up your teeth. I recommend making sure they are in their final position before quitting,

If you are not happy with how they look, insist that you have another set of refinements.
At the end of the day, you paid a lot of money for this. Don't make the same mistake I did- I only had one set of refinements but as time goes on I wished I insisted to have another set as I can see there could still be a little bit of more done. I am happy with my teeth-they are nice and straight but there I little corrections that could have been still done.

I'm giving it these two weeks to see what happens with my bite. I made it clear that I did not want the retainers ordered until I give the okay. I'm willing to give the professional the benefit of the doubt as long as he is willing to work with me on my concerns.

Believe me, I understand every month as I write another check just how much this is costing me.
