Anyone else have Damon braces?

#1 Post by stepher7 »

I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect with the Damon braces? I get them on Monday and I'm just curious to know if they're a lot different from traditional metal brackets. Everything I've read about them says they're different, but I'd like to know from someone who has them if they think they're more comfortable, less noticeable, etc. Thanks!

hi. i have damon braces for a whole week now. i never had anyother type. i find the braces themselves reasonably comfortable although im suffering with the pressure. i have extra bits added on. getting them on was painless, i nearly fell asleep. good luck with your visit.

I have all metal Damon braces and like them, but I think that regular, traditional, ligature type whatever description brackets are just as good.

I have them. My boyfriend had them for 3 years. He did his research and went to the orthodontist with that request.I guess they are "easier" because they do not require as many adjustments and they work off the arch wire.
I am on day 3. I am a bit of an "explorer" and I made the mistake of running my tongue over the open "doors" both top and bottom before they put in the arch wire. Don't Do that.
Im feeling pressure and a bit of soreness.
But I hope they work well for you too.

hahaha I did the same thing! The woman putting them on for me had me rinse my mouth out before she put the wire in and there's a mirror right there, so she told me to take a look lol I ran my tongue over them and was like "What the heck?? They better not feel like this all the time!" She said they'd be smoother when the little doors were closed, and they were thank goodness lol I'm going on 2 weeks with them now and I'm getting more and more used to them every day. I hope it's going well for you!
