tooth into alignment?

#1 Post by heather2 »

I have had my braces for almost 18 months. I had severe crowding on the bottom and my ortho didn't put a bracket on one lower tooth due to it being way behind the others. Since my teeth have straightened out some, she has determined there is enough room to pull it into alignment. I will be getting a bracket on it next time, but have no idea how they will go about pulling it in. There's no way it will fit into the archwire. Anyone else have experience with crowding?

I had crowding on my bottom teeth and there was one tooth that looked like it would not fit in place. It took a little bit of IPR (shaving the sides of the tooth) each month for a couple of months for it to slot back into place :)

The archwire will bend in and connect to the bracket.

I have had a very rotated lower front tooth. My ortho did not put a bracket on mine in the beginning. He straightened the teeth around the rotated tooth first. Then he used a coil spring to make room. When there was enough room he put a bracket on the tooth and tied it onto the archwire with zing string on one side of the tooth. The next appt he attached zing string to the opposite side of the tooth to rotate the other side in. At my most recent adjustment he was able to attach it onto the archwire and use a powerchain to turn it the rest of the way. It has been very exciting to watch the progress of the tooth. Good luck to you.
