Extractions - What to eat?

#1 Post by kaddessi »

Hi all,

I will be having SIX extractions on Friday 5/20 on all sides of my mouth. I doubt I'll be chewing anything for awhile. Does anyone have any recipes for smoothies or know of any good protein shakes? I know the basic throw banana, strawberry and yogurt in blender but I'm sure I'll get tired of that. I'm worried about being hungry and not getting enough nutrients.

Hi kadessi I just had 7 teeth extracted 4 wisdom 3 bicups. My only advice is to take your time drink plenty of fluids w/o straws. You can eat mashpotatoes, chicken broth, jello, pudding, applesauce, babyfood, kellogs protein shakes(my fav). Mainly anything that doesn't require you to chew. Good luck

My jaws are still sore, but its getting better. I have a follow up Friday and Im hoping everything is good to go. The only inconvience that I had was beside one of my extraction I had a filling come out and that tooth is bothersome. Im going to the dentist to see about fixing it.

I feel for you, I had my wisdoms pulled ~6 months ago. Be careful that you don't suck on anything too hard, I wouldn't use a straw if I were you. Dry sockets can be a pain! Good luck :)

Well I made it through the procedure. I had it done 3 hours ago and I'm just now in pain. We went ahead and took out the wisdom teeth. 4 wisdom teeth, 5 baby teeth, and 1 adult took. 10 in total. Man, its really starting to hurt - the wisdoms. I took ib profuen 40 mins ago and I'll take percocet in 2 hours. They told me to switch ib profuen and percocet every 3 hours to keep it in my blood stream. I still have gauze in, which is annyoying but it was bleeding a lot. Okay, off to watch movies. Just wanted to stop in.
