Six Month Smiles

I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself and give a little background. I am currently doing the 6 month smiles treatment. However, my original plan was to go the invisalign route. But after meeting with an orthodontist and hearing that I would have to wear them for 18 months (and the cost!).... I quickly changed my mind. I had sort of given up on having "perfect" teeth. My teeth never bother me when I was younger. They are straight but I always have had a small space in between my front two teeth (think Madonna.) And while I always liked it because it made me different, now that I am in my late 20's I have begun to feel differently. While browsing the web for options one day I came across 6 month smiles and a dentist next to my work that offered the program. After a consultation and discussing it with my husband I decided that was the route I wanted to take. I had my braces put on about 3 weeks ago. The process was not painful at all (kind of annoying though) and I was feeling fine the rest of the day. However, the following day I was miserable! I couldn't eat anything because my teeth felt "numb" and I was starving. I am a huge snacker and was slowly losing my mind for about a week and a half after having them put on. However, they have not bothered me lately and I even had tacos for dinner last night (hard shell.. very exciting!) I go back in about 2 weeks to have them adjusted and will update on how that goes! My only complaint so far is that the white wire they put on faded very easily and the metal is showing in certain parts. I plan to discuss this with my dentist at my next appointment.

Congratulations on getting your braces! How are you finding it? I'm getting the 6 month smiles braces too so am particularly interested in how you're finding it?
If you could post some pictures i'd be really grateful, I'm having trouble finding any 'real life' pictures of these braces (seem to be swamped with promotional air brushed pictures!)
