Should Nance button wiggle?

I've had a Nance button for a couple of weeks now. It wiggles a bit. Not a lot, but some. And I'm trying to decide if it's getting more wiggly. I don't entirely understand the physics of what the thing's supposed to be doing since they seem to be using it differently from the usual reasons I've read online. (Part of it is pulling down an adult tooth for me.) So I'm not sure if it's really supposed to be wiggle-able. It seems like it would be more effective if it didn't move.

I'm planning to call the orthodontist Monday, but they're closed today. So I thought I'd either confirm the need or allay the concern with a message board posting. :-)

I can't answer your question, but I'd definitely like to know what your ortho says! I'm getting a nance in about a week.. how was getting used to it? Mine will be to keep my back 2 molars in place as elastics pull my front 6 back to meet them and close my extraction gaps... If I didn't have the nance the elastics would bring the front and back teeth together in the middle. It's amazing to see all the different uses for these gadgets.

It's really annoying. Not a fan. It took a while to stop lisping since it's right where your tongue goes when you talk. For the first week, it was like trying to talk with a piece of candy in my mouth. And EVERYTHING I eat gets stuck in it.

I had one for about 6-8months you do get used to it, promise! I'd check with ortho about the wobbliness! I couldn't really move mine, It would move slightly at edges when I played with it but otherwise it was pretty rigid. It did the job, it's worth the week / few days of lisping and trapped food!

Hi, you have probably already sorted this, but my nance wiggled for ages. Eventually it seems the back teeth move forward until the button rests just behind the front teeth. It then can't move any further forward. Mine is rigid now. I've had mine nearly a year.

The whole point of having a Nance button is to keep the back molars in place. The reason why it appeared the Nance was moving forward was because front teeth move back.That was the reason why I had a Nance anyhoo! I had mine removed because as my overjet was improving the Nance was rubbing the gum behind my teeth in the palate causing a slight infection and discomfort, my back molars hadn't moved.
