Cracks in corners of mouth

#1 Post by tjanz1418 »

I have been having problems with waking up in the morning with cracks in the corners of my mouth. I am thinking it is because my braces cause me to sleep with my mouth open a bit. Anyone experience this and have any tips?

I keep chapstick at my bedside and never go to bed without using it.

This could be nothing but dryness, or it could be a problem with the balance of flora in your mouth. Sometimes when there is an overabundance of yeast, you can develop candidiasis and angular cheilitis (neither anything to worry about). Speak to your doctor if the problem persists.
