How often do you call your ortho/ortho office?

How often do you call your ortho/ortho office?
I always feel like I am bothering the ortho when I call the office...does anyone else have this problem? The thing is, I don't call them unless I have a real problem like a wire that needs to be cut. I have 3 months between first being braced and my 1st adjustment. I'm trying like h#ll not to call them, but things keep happening....

If they keep happening keep calling them. I roughly have 1 month between adjustments, and at one time i went like 3 extra times during that interval because of stupid bracket that kept popping off.

Well I got mine on Friday-and I already called them today but..I had a bracket pop off already lol My ortho called me today too just to see how everything was feeling and to see if I had any questions. With the amount of money I am giving them I don't feel bad about calling every day if I had too ha

I am sure your office would want you to call anytime something is wrong. This way, the issue can be fixed and it won't delay your treatment. There is a difference between calling to say, "Hi, how are you?" and "Hi, my wire is poking, a bracket broke off, the wire came out..."
You are paying for this service, you want a great result, don't hinder your treatment by being afraid to call.

Well, after almost a year of not having to call them about anything other than scheduling an appointment, I'm going to have to call them this morning.
I popped off a lig a few days ago. But since it was on the 2nd-to-last tooth up top (and still had a buccal tube next to it holding the wire in nicely), I wasn't going to bother saying anything. But this morning, while putting in an elastic, I cut my finger on my lower bracket (the one with the hook on it). At first, I thought it was the hook that was poking, but nope... there is a teeny, tiny piece of metal sticking straight up from the top of the bracket; like the tip of a needle. I have no idea what happened there, but I think I need to let them know in case (a) I need to come in right away to fix it, or (b) I need to allot more time to my next adjustment for them to fix it (probably just file it down).
I'll let you know if I get scolded...

ive called once to ask questions about tooth mousse stuff. but after i had my braces put on he gave me his e mail address and said if i had any thing that i wanted to ask i could call or e mail. c my ortho is a prof at the uni so hes not in his office all the time. maybe ask for an e mail that way you have a little more piece of mind. but its hard in the beginning you ave a million questions all the time!!!!!!!!!!!! well i do although for me ive only had my bottoms on for a month. tops go on soooooon.

I sent mine an email about a year ago... have yet to hear back from him.
I called about my issues, and their response was "Use wax." Ooookkaaayyy.... In the meantime, I've gone through 3 elastics this morning because of the damn piece of metal shredding my elastic. Oh well...

when u have your next appt ask him why he didnt reply, he may not have got your e mail or forgot to reply.
if it were me id remind him the reason his kids go to good schools and that hes driving a nice car is because of our almost empty pockets, and unfortunite genetics.
my ortho knows thats im very upfront and i think he knows i wont go away unless i can sleep at night.

LOL! I think the email I sent to him almost a year ago was asking him when he was going to start me on elastics (which I've now been on for 5 months)! So, I think the issue is moot by now... I was never encouraged to email him with any questions. The email address I have is from when he emailed me my grotesque teeth pictures from my initial consultation. I've never received anything from that email since.

Call your Ortho as often has you need to. You are paying them for a service and you need to get that service.
I've had my braces on since May 2010. I've called my Ortho a couple of time and they have been very nice.
