Starting invisaligns in approximately 3-4 weeks
I will begin my invisalign braces in approximately 3-4 weeks. I'm so anxious until I feel like a kid waiting for Santa. I can think of only one vice I will probably miss which is gum chewing. Can any of you share what you miss or thought you would miss since beginning treatment?

I miss being able to snack easily and being able to sip tea and other hot drinks through the day. But it's not so bad - I'm trying to keep my eyes on the prize and all that
Plus if you have a little gum habit, perhaps you'll really like using the chewie!

Is the chewie the tubular shaped thingy I've seen that's suppose to help push your aligners in place?

Yes, that's it. Mine is green and minty

What I miss or thought I'd miss.... Hmmm - I thought I'd miss snacking but I've done exceptionally well. No snacking, 2 soda's in about 3 1/2 weeks - boy did those two taste good! I love my chewie too. I use this more than advised to since there are times I do feel like snacking, but it's obviously more about having something in my mouth as my chewie does the trick. Probably the toughest thing I've found is walking through Costco without trying the samples

I miss the Costco samples too. I've been in Invisalign for 3 months now and really miss being able to eat spontaneously. Eating is now planned a little better followed up by brushing the teeth. I think the Invisaligns are greats. They are comfortable and you can eat what ever you want. I get elastics at my next appoinment. I'm curious & excited to see how thats going to work. I have a blog if anybody is interested. http://gandsco.wordpress.com/

Elastics are kinda a pain in the caboose... lol. I have TADS which are actually screwed into my jaw. I have rubber bands that go OVER my invisalign so to eat I have to take out the rubber bands then the invisalign. Im supposed to eat with my invisalign in but I cant do it! I have tried so many different ways of eating with them in and its impossible!
I also have an elite provider and I completely trust her and she is totally awesome I just can eat with them in!

I miss just being able to eat when I want. Food now has to be planned in advance, particularly when I am out of the office or going out for a celebration or something.
So looking forward to the day when I can go to a restaurant and eat a 3 or 4 course meal without constantly looking at my watch.
