Does anyone here have braces just for bite problems?

#1 Post by 24braceface »

I'm wondering if anyone here has braces to fix bite issues, but not to straighten teeth. My teeth are already straight, and I have braces to fix bite problems. Am I alone?

nope, you're not alone. I have braces just to fix a deep bite issue. Probably fix some other smaller issues with my lower teeth, but it's mostly a deep bite issue.

Same here (for the most part). I had one tooth that was pushed back a little on the bottom from some mild crowding, but other than that my teeth are straight. I just have a huge overjet... still going to take about 2 years to fix

I have them just for bite issues too. I had them for 5 years as a teenager so my teeth were straight but somehow in the last year my bite and jaw went screwy and the ortho had no explanation as to why so here we are again.

Not really thrilled to have spent 7 years of my life in braces by the time it's all over. Provided jaw surgery stays out to the picture.

I have braces mainly for bite issues. I had about 3 different bite issues going on... You're not alone. :-)

I had straight teeth my whole life that dentists thought were great. My off-centre/slightly open/ overbite was overlooked and it caused me over ten years of chronic, untreatable headaches. Now I'm nearly 21, with self-ligating braces (since December) and my headaches are already better. I had one twisted tooth on the bottom that was straightened in a matter of days. Totally worth it.

I had braces when I was younger but my bite was never corrected. My teeth stayed relatively straight over the years, so this time around the braces are for the purpose of closing my open bite.
