Freshly debraced !!!

#1 Post by bookfairy »

:jump:

I got debraced this saturday after 15 months in braces! (I'll have to change my timetracker now :) )

I loved my braces, they gave me no trouble what-so-ever, and now that they are out, I love them even more.

My teeth are beautiful. They are straight, they are even (my ortho filing them helped :) ) and they are crazy smooth.

It's worth it, people, it really is!!!

Congrats :jump:

I'm also looking at getting debraced after 15 months of treatment. Which will be sometime in August. Can't wait. At the moment, my teeth look good, but there is one area that has a "black triangle". Not sure what I'm going to do about that.

Anyone have suggestions??

Bookfairy and Gennie 50, how long did they tell you that you would have braces on? I'm curious if the actual time matched the estimate.

Congrats to you! 15 months is a great time to have them on. When you say your ortho "filled them in", can I ask what you mean by that? Thank you!

Yippeeee!!! Congratulations to you!

I watched a youtube video of the journey of a young adult in braces...On every single video, month after month, she
complained about how much she thoroughly hated having braces. In the very last video, in which she was debraced and looked fabulous, she was sooooo happy and told everyone that it was worth every minute and every penny!!

Enjoy the next phase of life--and show off them teethies!!!

Thank you all for your kinds words! No pics, I am afraid.

@ Julie FL - I was told it would be about 18 months. But the treatment was ahead of scedual since early on she said I'll get my lowers after 6 months, but I got them after 4,5 months, so I guess my teeth were good in obbeying :)

@Nifer237 - filing as in making them smooth and shaping them. She used about 5 diferent drills; I am assuming it's about the same when they clean your teeth at the dentists office.
What she did was she polished of the remaining glue, cleaned the teeth (from all sides), and "shaped" them; not all my edges were smooth, since some of my teeth were so crooked they never touched food before and remained jagged; she filed that and other teeth and made them appear more even.
Does it make any sense now? :)

JulieFL:
My estimated treatment time is/was 18 months. I continue to get my teeth cleaned every 3 months - faithfully - I brush and floss every night. Stay away from forbidden foods. I have ceramics on top and have not had a bracket break. I guess that is the reason for my teeth are coming along ahead of schedule

Now, my orthodontist is tell me that I will finish in late August. :jump:

I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures. I have several with my progress. At this point I will probably post "before - during and after" pictures.
