How do I get the plaque behind my teeth off?

#1 Post by MeanCactus »

Just over three weeks out and there is a ton of plaque build up on the inside of my teeth. Particularly the bottom row. I have rinsed constantly with ACT and tried "scrubbing" with my tongue and some frothy toothpaste but nothing has done the trick. Anybody?

Ugh! I know just how you feel!

The first thing I was able to fit in my mouth was a disposable tooth cleaning tool similar to the Colgate Wisp. Check out the drug stores and see what they have along those lines. Also, if you mix a little baking soda with your toothpaste you get a little more abrasive action which cleans off the build up pretty nicely.

If you're wired shut you'll have to wait until you're unwired. Being able to brush the back of my teeth was one of the things I looked forward to the most once I got unwired. After 5 weeks the inside of my mouth and teeth were feeling pretty gritty. I know it's a very unpleasant feeling. But don't worry, once you can brush back there everything will clean up. Just hang in there!
