Going in today!! I haven't posted in forever but just came here for some rechecking of my packing list and reassurance. Having a LeForte 1. Wish me luck or if you pray, please say a prayer for me. Thanks,

Ramirez, the first few days are brutal, but it starts to improve rapidly about six days or so after surgery. For your throat, try something carbonated that will help cut through your secretions. I hope this helps.

Day 8 post op. The swelling has gone down to the point where my lips touch and my mouth closes. Last night i talked more than normal and bled a little from my mouth. I rinsed it out and it stopped right away. I woke up this morning with dry blood on my chin and a spot of blood on my shirt. Is it normal to bleed from the mouth area??? I hope i didnt screw anything up.

jeeze ramirez, sounds like you got hit hard. Stay focused on getting better and you'll do fine... And dun dun dun, i'm 3 and a half weeks out and im feeeling flyyyyy. Still on soft foods and still wearing two rubber bands on each side. It's now a mundane habit to live like this and I see my OS for my second post op visit July 15th. I don't care if I can't eat hard foods yet, I just want these bands off so I can begin practicing speaking again? How are you doing pseudo? Do you ever find yourself breaking the rules a little bit? maybe eating something a little too hard so you swallow it whole?

Day 12 post op. went in for my first follow up appointment and the surgeon said everything looks very good. i got taken off tight elastics and put on light/guiding elastics. got 2 on each side. the surgeon said i can take off the elastics to eat and do jaw exercises. as far as swelling its still visible in my cheek areas. i havent experienced any pain since surgery just tingling in the numb areas. ive had a cold for about 5 days now thats making things more difficult than they really should be. im hanging in there!

Glad to hear you guys are doing well! I'm at five weeks and two days. Things move faster as you get further along. I'm chewing, but I have a massive open bite that makes it tedious.
