OH OH    My 1st adjustment after almost 3 months in braces is in a week...I have NO idea what to expect, but it doesn't sound good!!! At least I will finally be on the road to changes!

Crazy--your teeth look amazing--I bet you are sooo happy--your smile is great!! And in such a short time. I'm glad I'm not an orthodontist--can you imagine having to be the one to fix the bite mess they get us into?!!

Anyone ever feel like clawing at their teeth and gums? I swear everything is feeling "itchy". But hey, I'll take itchy over owie anyday!

I'm so craving Russell Stover's box of mixed caramels. OMG what I wouldn't do to sit and eat a whole box of them! And bubble gum...oh how I miss it!!! :-+

Beauty is Pain, I used to chew bubble gum everyday! And I sooooooo miss it. I really miss caramels, gummi bears, Bit-o-honey, Starbursts, Skittles and all my chewy, sticky candy. I also miss biting into things like hamburgers and barbeque sandwiches and ribs and fried chicken. Oh and popcorn, potato chips, cheetos. I gotta stop this, not only am I getting hungry...I'm going mad thinking about all I can't eat!!!

I'm probably going to put on 10 pounds when I finally get these off...I'll be eating like a woman possessed.

Well Beauty is Pain, I'm certainly not looking forward to the implants, I've heard they're quite painful. But, my Mom just had one done (she's 65) and she said it wasn't too bad at all. I think it's the "idea" of drilling something into my jawbone that is unnerving. And, according to my Mom, it ain't no tiny drill either. It's big, loud, vibrates your entire head and makes the regular "fillings" drill seem like barbie doll's drill, lol.

Now that I'm seeing my teeth move around and get aligned and everything's coming together...I'm getting very excited about all of it.

Hi Crazy4snow, ouch, hope it all ends well though :) I am sure the pain will be worth it. By the way, do you get put under general anesthetics???

Hiya Crazy! I also have to get implants and that's what I dislike the most about this whole process. That once the braces come off i'm still not done and that stinks.
I've found a cool place that does everything in one place and even puts a temp tooth on the day of the implant surgery. Which works better for me since I'm having upper canines done.
The website is http://www.clearchoice.com they have clinics all over. one of those websites I found one night at like 3am...while worrying about the procedure. I really hope it's not as awful as I think it might be.
29 years old
2-18-10 baby canine pulled
3-15-10 got braces
12-22-11 Moving-SO EXCITED!!
1-2-12 Meet new Ortho
1-5-12 Begin finishing treatment
3-5-12 Canine Implants...dun dun dunnnnn
4-9-12 Deband!
I had braces for Two Years and TwentyFive Days

Beauty, no they don't put you to sleep unfortunately. They numb you up and that's it. My mom said she didn't feel "pain" but felt a lot of pressure. I think I can handle pressure.

ashes, I already have a dentist and he will be doing the implants. I'm gonna check out your link though and read up on implants in general. My dentist will also put a temp on the same day but it will be 4 months before they put the permanent crown on there, I think that wait-time is pretty standard.

Fortunately, I have plenty of time to dread it all, lol. None of this will happen until a couple of months after my braces come off...sometime next year, unless I have to wear them longer than 18 months...that seems to always happen to us, right?
