Re: OK--This was not the plan!
Hey klobird! Sorry to hear you are in pain, hope it subsides soon by the way, I need advices advices, can you please read my latest entry??? Thanks in advance!!
Oh I think the best is to just allow the pain to go away on its own, because with pain meds, I found that it hurt more after the pain killers are out of action. Ah, the price we pay to get our teeth perfect.

Hey Kip and Bip! (Oh!!! It rhymes! )
So, I clench at night, and the night guards the ortho suggested were ALL to bulky and basically would not work for me at all. We're talking gag, choke, die of suffocation stuff.....
Then someone somewhere on this web site suggested Plackers Grind No More---They are perfect!!! And I can even wear them with my elastics...!!!!
I think I will go to the metal mouth forum and suggest them!

Hey Klobird!!!!
Just wanted to stop by and say hi and glad you found the plackers!!! I think I clench at night too, might have to find me the Plackers Grind.
I see you haven't lost your sense of humor. Miss reading your posts, but I'm catching up, for me time goes by faster if I obsess less about the braces, thus I have to obsess over something else. LOL.

Re: OK--This was not the plan!
OK, so it's been about 5 days since my adjustment. My teeth are really confused with this new hard as a rock archwire.
I can hear them--"no, go this way---no, that way---no,wait a minute, I'm lost!"
So, it's all over the place now and eating is completely different--like I have to try to find my bite. I really like the new placement of the much tougher elastics I have now. It's further back, and more comfortable--I mean if one has to have elastics...
So, with my mouth and teeth all out of whack, I have had to put wax EVERYWHERE!!...I have so much wax in my mouth that if it comes out when I'm sleeping, I'll probably choke to death. Since I can't even get the wax out most of the time without a pic, I'm not too worried.
It's hard for me to believe that I am only on the 2nd archwire--that they get tighter and stronger-- ---I will just get used to this one, then here we go again.... the problem is, when I think I have finally seen some change, it turns out just to be wishful thinking! I mean, c'mon, there are people here that post that they just woke up one day and their teeth were straight...I need to have their ortho write my ortho a letter and attach a set of instructions!

Hey klobird! ah, that sounds awful, by the way, does your mouth flare up with ulcers from time to time? periodically? I don't know why, but I kind of do...

Hey klobird! Oh yeh, ulcers...I think maybe the tie-wires?! Oh no, I have another 2.5 weeks till my next adjustment!! :/
Re: OK--This was not the plan!
My sister had braces years ago as an adult. Her teeth are incredibly white and straight.
OK, my turn--I think my teeth are turning green! They have never been shocking white like my sisters, but they seem worse than ever now. Maybe it's the reflection of the braces, or maybe my teeth are allergic to the metal .
Anyway, it's really disconcerting, and I will be getting my teeth whitened the very day I get my braces off!!!!!!!
(oh ya, and I have always been a good brusher, and am a fanatic now...hmmmm)

Re: OK--This was not the plan!
OK, so I have been reading other posts, and I am not alone--the braces do seem to make some people think that their teeth are turning grey/green--glad I'm not alone.
So, I was thinking--when I read this back someday in the faraway future, I am going to think that I just ignored people's responses to my blogs. I'm not--I usually go to their blog and respond. But I'm going to respond here in the future so I will "get it" when I look back at it someday.
And really not too much is going on braces wise. I'm getting more and more used to them, and not so panicky about what might happen in the future. Maybe because of the wire change last week and knowing that the pain does subside in a few days.
14 weeks down and 90 to go!! (And I am still so glad I made the decision to get braces...)

Re: OK--This was not the plan!
Hey klobird, same! My teeth seem very very yellow...very puzzling...mhm I hope it would just be the reflections...or else, I won't be a happy bunny when my sentence is over
Re: OK--This was not the plan!
I feel like my teeth have turned a yucky color too.
It scares me because I have only had my braces for just over 2 months. Makes me afraid of what my teeth are going to look like when the braces come off.
I also know what you mean about other people on the board having straight teeth all of a sudden. I want to wake up one morning and see all my bottom teeth straight. Ahhhhh, what a nice day that would be.

Re: OK--This was not the plan!
Hey BiP and Tink!
Do you both have ceramic braces? Mine are all metal--I hope it's just the grey metal shining down on my teeth...
I mean I do not have the strong white enameled teeth that I see in most of the posts...ya, I'll put that one down to old age. (I knew being older would be good for something!)
Anyway, I have a 6 month dental check up in about 10 days--I am definitely going to get "superdentist's" opinion. (I love my dentist so much that I can't wait to see her--REALLY!--) I have a LOT to talk to superdentist about!!
So ya, my teeth might be moving--I don't even know, it's going so slow...I look several times a day...I want to see if superdentist can see a change. And I will have her measure my overjet again, now that I have had the braces on for a few months...
OK, so I am being bad...it had to happen...I am eating and not running to the bathroom to brush my teeth!! Only when I know I have food in my braces..I had cottage cheese at my desk at work today and absolutely had to brush my teeth. It takes so dang long...Anyway, for the first time, I forgot to put my elastics back in!! They were out for about 2hrs...and when I put them back in, they weren't as comfortable as they usually are with this latest new placement...hmmm...ooops!
You know what--I hate people who are getting their braces off....
