waterpik question

#1 Post by lilone »

I just purchased a waterpik and notice that it doesn't have a user booklet. The only instructions are on the box. Is anyone aware of a once a day limit for use or anything? I just wonder if I can damage gums by using it more than once a day?

No booklet? That is weird. Maybe you can search the companies webpage online for the manual.

In the beginning, when you first use the waterpik, you are supposed to use it on the lowest setting and then build up from there. This way your gums get used to it.

I use my waterpik 2-3 times a day. The wp is the best thing ever!

I'm feeling that it will be well worth the money. The only think I don't like is the noise. I'm sure the neighbours in the next apartment can hear that I've got the waterpik going! Screeetch!

I use my Waterpik at least 2 times a day also since I can't stand the feel of food in my teeth and it is much easier than flossing. There is a portable rechargable 1 too that might be quieter.

I use my RediBreeze several times a day. It gets everything off my teeth and feels really good on my gums.

I love my water pik also. I mainly use it to free all the food particles from my teeth after I eat. I also still floss.
One thing my dental hygeinist told me was to make sure I held the water pick down away from gums so the food goes down when you are doing the top teeth and up and away from the gumlines when doing the bottom teeth. In other words you don't want food being forced into the gumlines. Hope this makes sense.

I had the older style Waterpik rechargeable and it was quite loud. It also had issues with the connector becoming corroded and not charging fully or at all after about 6 months. I use a pana-sonic portable model now that takes regular batteries, and it's a lot quieter!

I use it 2-3 times a day, and the instructions that came with it state not to aim it directly into any pockets if you have any, since it will make them worse.

Bought a WaterPik last weekend in anticipation of getting my braces tomorrow. This time tomorrow I'll be braced...a little nervous about it but really excited to get started. So far I don't have any complaints on the WaterPik.

I love the tongue cleaner. No morning breath at all!
I thought about redibreeze but chose Waterpik. It makes my teeth and mouth feel really clean. I started at pressure 6 and now on 9. Use it twice a day and I like it but as others have mentioned about the sound, it sounds like a construction drill.

I might get the redibreeze too for late night so neighbors don't wake up. lol

My fiancee says I should put up orange cones around me when I use it.
