Can a loan pay for surgery

#1 Post by lillyr1991 »

I'm getting surgery with Arnett and my dad said he would pay for it. My dad said he has insurance that will pay for 80% of the surgery so he only pays 20k out of pocket but i highly doubt that.

My dad is qualified for loans (the surgery cost 48k) because he has really good credit. so im wondering if its possible for a loan to pay for the surgery. I don't know anything about loans or what they are for, so i am asking.

My surgeon has a sign in his office advertising Capital One's health care loans, so you might want to contact them.

I'm wondering the same thing myself. I'm planning on surgery with Arnett Fall 2012 (starting braces next month) and am just trying to figure out how to pay. Mine costs $52k :( I'll be able to pay for most of it out of pocket but the rest I'll have to borrow or charge for. We'll see how much insurance covers but from what I've read from others, I think I'll just be happy if I get the hospital and anesthesia covered. Might just have to suck it up and charge it to my amex account and think of it as in investment if I can't get a loan which I'm not optimistic about it this economy.

Let me know how it works out for you!

what do you mean by "charge for", and what's an amex account? Is that like a bank account?
I will, my dentist says I'm ready to have the surgery December 2011 which is really soon..I'm comfortable with Arnett as a surgeon and eveything he recommended but, my only problem is how to pay for it. My Dad keeps telling me not to worry about it and that he will take care of the costs but, I'm still stressed...and will stay stressed until my surgery is already payed for...

Amex is short for American Express, as in the credit card. He's talking about charging it on his American Express credit card.
I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!

There is lots of stuff included, the surgery fee is 30k the assistant surgeon is 10k, and the cheek augmentation in one cheek, lip augmentation (he wants to thicken my upper lip) and bone grafts. And hospital fee (8k) and some other stuff i cant think of at the top of my head.

He knew exactly what was wrong with the proportions of my face, and i only realized it like 7 months later everything he said was correct by examining my facial proportions ...and it only took him like 5min to realize what was wrong. So I think he is a really good aesthetic doctor.
