Inman Aligner

#1 Post by janey1 »

Hello, I am really dissapointed and disheartened today after returning from my 'consultation' for an inman aligner. I have spent two weeks looking forward to it, to find out that my 'consultation' was with two ladies that were trying the hard sell for invisalign and did not seem to have much of an idea about the inman at all. They took lots of horrid photos and told me that they would show these to the dentist later but did not seem to think that the inman would be any good to me as my teeth are quite crowded and the inman can 'only slightly move one or two teeth'. I have booked another consultation with a different dentist but cant get an appointment until Oct. I am pinning my dreams of straight teeth all on him now! Has anyone else recieved the hard sell of invisalign when enquiring about the inman ? what did you go for? I really cant afford invisalign so this may be my only hope.

I am not sure about Inman - never heard of it before, but let me tell you the following. If the orthodontist (or someone else) is pushing Invisalign on you, despite your objections - run, and Run and RUN FAST! These are not the people you want to trust your smile to.
Had full mouth metal braces for 21 months. Debonded April 2013. Now wearing clear plastic retainers every other night.

I have no formal dental or orthodontic education. Hence, all opinions expressed by me on this forum are those of an "informed consumer" and by no means intended as an expert advice.
