GAPS FROM TEETH REMOVED

Anyone had teeth removed?

How long does it take for the gap to close? If not completely at least half of it so it will not look so bad.

I read some people had covers while they had the gap but my ortho didn't mention anything. I asked how long would it take and he said 3 months, is this too short? I know other people have been told longer.

I had the braces for 4 days now, I don't expect movement that fast but the gaps look so bad when I smile!

I was asked if I wanted fake teeth put in the gaps but chose not to. You cant really see my gaps. Plus I already have so much weird stuff in my mouth I didnt want anything extra. But my ortho said anytime I want to have fake teeth put in just let him know. Ask about it at your next appointment.

Thanks dkt3, I will ask at my next appointment in 4 weeks time. Until then I will have to wait.

How often do you have your appointments? I have them every 4-6 weeks.

The disconfort in my front teeth has now stopped and my tongue doesnÂ´t hurt now

Yay! I am so glad you are not longer in pain! good feeling huh?

At the moment I have appointments every four weeks.

Mine are every 4-5 weeks. The fake teeth actually slowed down movement because they blocked one of the teeth from moving back. One of them snapped off because it was contacting my lower canines so I just left it off.

In about 9-10 weeks my teeth have moved about 3mm. 5mm left.

My ortho said a realistic expectation is about 1mm a month. FYI.
