Hey Ya'll!!!

Catgyrl!!! Yup, Class III. My Ortho said I have a size issue. I'm not sure what that means but the Class III are for sure supposed to help my off-center midline and help to align my left jaw. You're right, I think the Class II may have over compensated on the right side. Thanks goodness the wire still works! Most of the time I don't think it's doing anything. :P

The wire ties are just as BiP said in regards to rotation, which I'm EXTREMELY happy about for my upper right canine. I never thought if felt like it was positioned right when I search my mouth...they are a little painful however. The tech today really kicked my butt when she put them in. Never the less she always does a great job. You should try them! The pain only lasts a couple of days. :D

Thanks! The hardest part is trying to talk in front of people with all of this metal and rubber in my mouth. I feel like I'm gonna cause some sort of electrical fire if I talk too much...I hope your Ortho fix those concerns and fast! There's nothing like getting near the end of your treatment and wondering if the end is really gonna be when the Ortho originally stated it was gonna be...

Well...I'm off to post pictures! See ya soon!

The Bite!!!

Things look pretty well but I just want these friggin gaps go close...

Since my appointment today, I'm no longer able to whistle a tune with my front teeth because of a gap. I think that's great news! My Tech scrapped some plaque off my lowers. :yuck: I can't seem to get the ones in the front properly! I also notice how unrecognized the teeth around my molar bands are. I got a butler brush and cleaned them REALLY good in between, it needed it horribly.

I went with silver again because I think it's safer if I stay from noticeable colors. Someone thought I had ate something with a ton of green frosting on it because of my lig and powerchain colors.

Really? You actually think I of all people would walk around with a green mouth? Oh wait! I did. Nevermind!!!

We'll everyone, I'm exhausted and off to bed!

Hey BiP!

Thanks!!! I love the way my teeth look now. Even with the gap. :-) I am indeed a Class II but like Catgyrl stated in her last post here I think the Class II elastic on the right side over compensated and now they have to correct it. :-P Not cool...however, I hope this elastic configuration helps close the gap on the left. I'm tired of looking at it. When they come off I'll go to your thread first to let you know! I'm supposed to just have a few more months left. I'm in month 11 of 14 now.

Thanks Belistic10! And thanks for visiting! I give my Orthodontists <--yes, it's plural--> all the credit! :-D

Yep, your gap has definitely started closing! I guess my ortho is right (darn, I HATE it when that happens!) when he says, "Teeth will move when they want to move."

I'm so EXCITED!!! Move teeth! Move!!!

 Ha! It's so irritating! I wanted these gaps to be closed as soon as I got the extractions, and look where I am over a year and 8 months later. :) They're so stubborn...

Oh boy...I'm highly irritated with my teeth. My final gap is playing peek-a-boo with me. This morning when I woke up my gap had closed quite a bit (again) and now this afternoon, I can get my tongue in it...again. I wear my elastics the way I should and brush and floss the way I'm supposed to.

*Sigh* is this thing EVER gonna close... :?

Hey Buckey

I read somewhere on here that you should try to avoid fiddling with your teeth with your tongue. As tempting as it can be, it can actually slow things down. The tongue is the strongest muscle in the human body (there's my "Jerry Maguire... The human head weighs 8 pounds" trivia for the day) and it can cause gaps to open up and teeth to move around. That's why tongue thrust is so hard to cure, and why it causes so many problems.

And as I type this, I'm doing the exact same thing. :( Such a hard habit to break...

Cathy

P.S. When you got green ligs/chains, did they change colors?

Hey Catgyrl!

Thank you sooooooo much. It indeed is a terrible habit! What's funny is tongue thrusting crossed my mind and I completely dismissed the thought and proceeded...

I'm going to make a conscious effort to NOT do that. I don't want to prolong my treatment any futher.

The green ligs stayed bright green the whole time! I had no staining or anything! Next to black and dark colors this is the best color to choose if you easily stain your ligs.

I'm debating if I should go Yellow next time...

So I went to see Captain America this weekend. I had a LARGE bag of popcorn (which I shared) and drooled at the screen the whole time...

Why may you ask? Because Chris Evans is a hottie! :D Oh! And because the movie was AWESOME!!! :P

He SURE IS!! I hope to see that this weekend.

Oh, and thank you for the tip on the green ligs/chain. I have two colors of green to choose from: Extreme Green and Kelly Green. I think Kelly Green is darker, so I may go for the Extreme Green. The thing is... on the color wheel, it's right next to the Screaming Pink, which was... well... SCREAMING PINK!!! I think it might end up looking like SCREAMING GREEN! LOL! That might look kinda cool, though.
