Just a quick catch up post, hope to do pics later...

Four month adjustment went well, the dentist repositioned one bracket which finally popped my snaggle tooth right in line. Yay!

The bad news? The open bite situation. My dentist ended up taking out my bite guards (and I have to say, it's so nice to have all my teeth meeting in back. I'm eating salads again, hooray!) but the trouble in the front is that my wire is curving up and my teeth do not touch in front.

This freaked me out for a while but the conclusion is that we're doing elastics to bring everything back down. Looks like it will take a bit longer than six months to finish everything, but as long as we're progressing I'm OK with adding a little more time.

Wow you've had a ton amount of movement in a short time frame. I am one month in today and don't see much of a difference. I am starting to get discouraged as I see on big difference in a lot of people Jo post to these forums.

Hang in there Danielle. I'm sure everyone's teeth move at diffent rates. Also, in your case the movement may be happening but be so gradual day by day that you can't really notice it until you can compare impressions or however they check progress.

I ended up trying six month smiles with my lower teeth and it was very much a half hearted attempt. While it did made progress with straightening, it was nowhere near where is should be given the money and time invested. I felt rushed and the company itself would not get involved with the dentist at all. Once it was slightly better they were done (even though we had not even hit 6 months yet) Do yourself a favor and go to an orthodontist.
