Damon Clear Almost 3 months

#1 Post by CoryDaniels »

I have had my Damon clears for almost 3 months now. So far, everything seems to be going good. My bottom teeth have moved SO much in the last 2 months, but I feel that my tops aren't really moving as fast......Don't know if this is generally a rule of thumb, but my bottom teeth have almost completely widened out and are a couple months away from being completely straight I would say.

My concern is my top teeth. The only things that I want done on my top teeth are my 2 Canines to come down just a tad more and for my top pre molars need to come inward a bit....I know that I am still really early in my treatment and I am AMAZED at how fast these damons are working. When will I get my wires changed to thicker ones? I really want em...

Also, I haven't had any pain in the last 1.5 months or so...this normal?

From what I know, this is how it usually is. Don't worry, the uppers will catch up.

As soon as your ortho thinks your teeth are ready. Also, what is your estimated treatment time? You are only 2 months in!

Oh Boy do I wish that I did not have any pain? I would not have asked if it's normal
Had full mouth metal braces for 21 months. Debonded April 2013. Now wearing clear plastic retainers every other night.

I have no formal dental or orthodontic education. Hence, all opinions expressed by me on this forum are those of an "informed consumer" and by no means intended as an expert advice.

I don't have the Damon brand, but the 3M version of the same thing. I just entered my 5th month and trust me, you're right on par! I'm at my 3rd wire change on top, and 1st on bottom (which my ortho put in 3 sizes larger to catch up to my tops). My bottoms were very crowded before treatment but by the 2nd month I was like OMG "they're straight"!. I was stoked! Now... not so much lol. They widened up and I now have THREE large gaps and crookedness down there. My tops were taking their sweet time but now are WAY straighter than my bottoms. Its very odd how it works. Just when you THINK you know... they change on you. I also have had ZERO pain the 2nd and 3rd and even 4th month and I was kinda bummed. No pain = no movement it seemed and I'm weird. I like feeling the pressure. I even made a comment to my ortho about it at my visit last month. His response: "don't worry, you're gonna feel it today"! And that's when he upgraded my top wire to the 3rd set, and put the same size on my bottoms. Ouch! It was sore a day or two, but I was way happier! Lol. Anyway, you're right on track. Sit back and enjoy the ride! Oh, and as of about 4 days ago... my super straight top teeth... not so straight anymore haha. Wonder where they're going now! :) excited!!
