You're in Hollywood - plastic surgery capital of the world. If you are doing it for aesthetic reasons, then I would start with a plastic surgeon. He will definitely examine your occlusion and refer you to an orthodontist if you need it.

I initially sought out having a genioplasty and contacted a plastic surgeon's office because I was a bit nervous about having my jaw split apart. The first question the nurse asked over the phone was if my bite was normal or not. I told them my bite was off and she suggested I see an OMFS.

I don't need my jaws split apart, my bite is fine. Just want the geniplasty. I always assumed I'd need a plastic surgeon. But living in the plastic surgery capital of the world means it can be harder to find someone, not easier, if only 'cause there are so many choices. I figured at least one person on this forum would have a recommendation for a surgeon in the Hollywood area. Guess I'm the only one from So Cal on these boards.
