So, anyway, I just got back from getting you a gift for your courage, and it should be on the way to Norway this afternoon!! I am just soooooo happy for you--and you just wait--you will be thrilled when you start seeing the changes!!

Thank you guys! I have to admit that I’m a bit proud myself. Did not believe I could do it at all 8) .
Catgyrl: aww thank you. I did not believe my journal was that interesting.
Klobird: you will get a PM shortly :)
BSS: Thanks!
Jem: Thanks! How are your teeth? No pain?

It felt so strange to have them in my mouth yesterday but it’s better today. It’s a bit sore but not painful, I don’t need any wax yet. I’m a bit more relaxed because I know that there is only one way now, to get the rest of the braces. Before I got them on I was battling my feeling if I wanted to do it or not.

Have been at our cabin today, and at times I totally forgot the brackets on my teeth. I’m crossing my fingers that I can keep my appointment on Friday so I can start this now. I might freak out the day before or something but I’m used to that now  .

A picture I took today from our cabin. I love this place

Hi Ebony,

All fine with me thanks. Still no pain- I wonder whether there is any movement at all yet? I cannot see any. I guess I will have to be patient.

The view from your cabin is magnificent.

Good luck next Friday. You know you can do it now.

There was only one thing I was hoping for this weekend; that my dentist had an open appointment today so we could do the extraction.
My alarm was set when they open so I could be the first one to call for an appointment. 15 min before the alarm went off my big sister called to let me know that my dentist’s assistant had called her to ask if she wanted to have her appointment today and not Wednesday because it had been a cancelation. Called them right away and got the appointment, yay!

So my poor premolar did not stand a chance against my dentist, it was easy peasy. Everything is ready for b-day on Friday

Wow I can't believe you've already gotten brackets on! Congratulations!!! I think your story is really inspiring even though I've already got my braces on. I wish I'd been as brave as you years ago.

Was the tooth that came out on the bottom? I hope you're doing ok. Don't worry about the archwire, if you can get through an extraction and get used to the brackets then you can take a thin little bit of wire. Onwards and upwards!

Hey Eb--I am totally amazed at how well you handle an extraction!! To me, that is waaaaayyyyyy scarier than getting braces :yikes: :!:

I've never had a tooth pulled (well, since they fell out when I was a child). Your courage is really impressive!!!

Thanks guys! I’m totally fine, no pain what so ever. Have had so many extractions through the years that it’s general not something I’m freaking out about (after I took one tooth out surgically and have no more wisdom teeth I no longer fuzz about it too much. I no longer feel I will “die” ).

My dentist was asking every five min if I was ok, which I was. He is very good with extractions and giving la so I knew it would be fine, I totally put my trust in him and his skills (but I was of course a bit nervous, but that is normal).

Little: It was 25, which is a premolar in my upper jaw. The one that comes out at the bottom will not be extracted before we have a plan for my lower braces.
Klo: Never?! That’s actually very good! :D Wish I could say that  . I needed mine pulled through the years either because they was in the wrong place or I did not have room for them.

Ya Eb--I still even have my wisdom teeth--they are so far down and so horizontal that even though several oral surgeons have reviewed them, no one wants to touch them unless they are causing problems. I guess they would have to go in on the sides or something, and it would be more traumatic than regular wisdom teeth removal. Something like that....

So ya, if I had to have a tooth removed, I would be petrified!!!

Hey Eb, that's awesome. The only thing that's ever scared me that much is the continuous Kidney surgery I have done every so often. Mostly the being knocked out part LOL. That's awesome that your orthodontist and you talked about anesthesia.

If I could talk for a long time with my orthodontist I would be the happiest person in the world. :D

WOW you are very brave. I've only had four surgical extractions when I was younger. But not for the braces.

CONGRATS EB  :rose: :-)o
So proud that you got some brackets put on!
In my opinion, braces feel so much better when the arch wire is put on!! It makes it all smoother. :)

Keep up the great work!
