Good news today!

#1 Post by oldwbraces »

so I had my visit to ortho today and I asked him right away, if it would be terrible for me to continue without pulling teeth and his answer surprised me cause he said, he wouldn't recommend me to pull them anymore anyway, that my teeth ARE coming together just fine, and thats why we've waited this long before going to the pulling of the teeth immediately. He said sometimes you just don't know how well one's teeth will move, but in my case, I seem to be lucky enough for my teeth to be doing just fine!! I am so relieved, and am for the first time quite pleased with my braces!! so now, I have a bigger wire on top, YOUCH! and he put a special silver one on one of my bottom teeth to pull it straight, cause it is SO crooked! and YOUCH again. Pulling off the ceramic brace to replace it with this silver one, was also extremely scary and it hurt! Loud Crack as if the tooth itself had broken and with the pain, i thought it had! so for now, having seen what awaits at the end of treatment when all the braces will be broken off, I think I will just love my braces a little longer more

Oldwithbraces- Glad to hear that you got the good news. :jump: :jump: No extractions is definately fabulous. Guess that proves that good things come to those who wait. :)

Yea, I'm so happy about it! I hope it just continues to go as well. How about you, are you kinda over that adjustment beginning? I use to be really self concious about them, those first few months, but by now, I am really just pleased with the process and I don't think about them anymore. Hope you're feeling good about yours too :D :flowerbloom:

Oldwbraces- It gets easier everyday. Although, my husband swears I have become OCD about brushing and flossing.

Hi oldwbraces .. thats good news, I am sort of lining up for the same thing , braces on but the prospect of 2 teeth being removed , depending on how well they move .. I am no spring chicken ... I am probably v_oldwbraces http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/posting ... =9&t=41267# what sort of movement is happening .. is it upper arch or lower arch ? correcting overbite or cross bite ?
I am interested to hear success stories in the not so young .

For me the top has really arched out especially within the last 3 months, and I've had my braces for 6 months now,( I'll need to do one if this tracking times though that's neat.) So in the last 2 visits my Ortho placed larger wires on top and this has helped so much to retract my front teeth and arch pulled out! I never thought at the beginning not pulling teeth would become an option, but right now, we see it's no longer necessary, so hang in there and trust the process. I had my doubts, but Ortho knew what he was doing even if he wasn't always very vocal. Good luck!!! Keep in touch! :D
