Lips larger after braces removed?

Lips larger after braces removed?

My orthodontist says that after my braces come off, my lips will look larger because my teeth will be shifted outward. Has anyone been told this or know anyone who this happened to? I'm not complaining as my lips are on the thin side but just wondering.

I don't know as I don't have braces yet. However, I had been wondering about the effect of braces on the lips once the teeth are shifted.

The length between the nose and lips became greater post braces on a friend of mine, but she needed to have 4 extractions. Could be why.
