New here - 41 and braces in a couple weeks

#1 Post by TxGearGuy »

Hello everyone. I am new here.

My teeth were pretty straight until getting wisdom teeth removed a couple of years ago. Since then, they are crowding in the fronts, lower worse then uppers and spacey on the sides to the back. Has anyone else run into this?

Anyway, going in for spacers in a week, then the following week for metal uppers and lowers. Ortho says 12 to 18 moths.

Glad this board is out there to know what lies ahead!

Hey - 44 year old relapse case here - will probably get braced in the next month or so - we can be the forty-something club of 2012!

Me too! (On the 40 something and newly braced in 2012)
Got them on the 17th and still getting used to them - but I've got a 3 year 'sentence' to correct a bad bite. The cosmetic side is just lagniappe to me. (Never had braces as a teen - had wisdom teeth removed when I was 17 or 18 - just progressively worse and worse bite.)

41 year old here-been in metal on top (bottom to come some time) for 3 weeks. Not too bad so far, just the spacers for 2 weeks and sore molars and mouth after the metal bands. It has not been too bad-great diet plan. It takes so much longer to eat and I usually just give up!! Anyways, good luck to all you other 40 somethings! My sentence 18 months
