BracedSurgeryStudent -
You have 2-3 more years left in braces? That sounds pretty long from what I can see of your pictures. But I suppose you can never really tell.

Re: Lig colours (colors)
I was going to do an alternate between pink and red ligs for February, but they sprung full mouth power chain on my yesterday at my latest adjustment.
Yay for progress?
Anyway, I went with full red:
Sorry for the grainy pic - I used the front-facing camera on my phone (lower pixel).

Re: Lig colours (colors)
Can I ask a question? What colour would be the MOST noticable colour for braces?

I think black is hard to miss.BracedSurgeryStudent wrote:Can I ask a question? What colour would be the MOST noticable colour for braces?
Re: Lig colours (colors)
Actually I think Catgyrls flaming pink were the most noticeable I've ever seen. Maybe she'll repost it for you. Very intense.
Re: Lig colours (colors)
Ashesgap - you have the memory of an elephant! I'd completely put that one out of my mind. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending) for you folks, I still have the pic in my Photobucket account. It doesn't seem as horrendous now as it did back then. But OY! My teeth were so "off" back then. This was only 6 months into treatment:ashesgap wrote:Actually I think Catgyrls flaming pink were the most noticeable I've ever seen. Maybe she'll repost it for you. Very intense.
Some people look great with the hot pink. It didn't match me, at all.

Lol! Sorry Cat, but the only thing more noticeable than those ligs, would be that color power chain. Now I'm not saying they looked bad, they were just....memorable.catgyrl wrote:Ashesgap - you have the memory of an elephant!ashesgap wrote:Actually I think Catgyrls flaming pink were the most noticeable I've ever seen. Re: Lig colours (colors)
Oh, but they WERE bad, to me! That's why I had them changed 3 days later. Heck, I think I would choose Black over those pink ones again.

Hey Cathy,
When I was "auditioning" Orthodontists of the six (seven?) Ortho's I met with, the guy who would be on the bottom of the list is the one who:
* Told me black was the colour of ligs his patients most prefer and it was the least visible. [Um, in my defense, I asked him lots of good, real questions about the process and not just about ligs, but I was curious.]
* Would not give me a firm, nor ballpark, price for the cost of his service. Nothing. Really? I may be naive but I'm no dummy. No thanks.
* Also does botox in his office. That really rings warning bells for me.

Botox?! In an ortho office? Wow.VancouverJude wrote:Hey Cathy,

Yeah, I know. Actually, to clarify, and trust me this too set off warning bells. The fellow is a Dentist who also does braces. Which isn't that uncommon I suppose, but truly who wouldn't prefer a specialist for *both* botox and/or braces.ashesgap wrote:VancouverJude wrote: Botox?! In an ortho office? Wow.
Is there anyone out there who rocks black ligs? I'd like to hear what you think. Black is my fave color for clothing, but I don't get the concept about it on teeth.
Since I'm here I'd like to point out how different regular lig colours often appear in powerchains. The metallic blue I've used before is almost a baby blue in comparison to on individual teeth. I'll try to post a pic.

Re: Lig colours (colors)
I usually pick darker colors for my ligs because I actually think they look better than the lighter ones I've tried, but they are very noticeable. I guess it depends on your kind of braces and what you're looking for, but mine are all metal so choosing black/dark blue ligs doesn't really make much of a difference in terms of people being able to tell I have braces.
Re: Lig colours (colors)
I've been wearing black for 3 months and I love it. I don't have a powerchain though and I have regular metal. My next adjustment is valentines day. I MAY try purple. IDK. I've only had silver and black.
