Does having Braces make you feel cool?

I feel ashamed sometimes because I'm 20 yo maybe if I'm 15yo I'll think its cool

Depends on the person I guess. For me I feel like when people see me in braces its like "why the hell do you still have braces at 20?"

I feel like braces ruined whatever style I had hehehe.
It just looks so bulky and it definitely looks like Im hiding something there when I close my mouth.
When I was younger, I though braces would be cool but at 27 i just feel ridiculous in it. I was waaaay more conscious when I first got it though

I completely second what Klobird said... and I'm 29. I wish I could've felt this way in high school. Anyway, I don't dislike mine, I just wish they would do their job faster so I could eat normally again. I haven't been able to chew food properly since getting my elastics. I think when I very first got them I thought they were pretty cool.

Hell no they don't make me feel cool! I am 26 and I hate them in every way - I mean I know its all going to be worth it but I hate every single thing about them - literally. I try to be positive about it and I am happy I have them but they definitely do not make me feel "cool" lol

I don't get mine for another month, but yeah, I think I'll feel cool in them. I don't think braces look bad, I just think they look like braces, so.. whatevs.

Also, I think getting braces at my age (44) says I'm too cool to care what anyone thinks, I'm doing what I want. As klobird says, the older you get the less you care what others think anyway.

There is a woman in my office who I think is in her 50s but easily looks 10 years older. She has HORRIBLE teeth. Crooked, very dark stains - they're a mess. I think she must never go to a dentist because any dentist would say "whoa, let's get these fixed up". I'm certain she can afford it (we have a good dental plan and she makes good money), so why doesn't she fix her teeth?????? To me, that situation is way less cool than having braces for a while.

I don't feel cool, but nobody really seems to notice them that much either.

That said, I can't wait to get them off and not have every last bite of food stick like glue.

I'm 48 and I think my braces are way cool. When I told people I was getting them a bunch of alarmed people told me to get the clear ones. I said "Are you kidding? What fun is that?" I'm going to really miss these when they're gone.

Well I am over 60 and yeah I have to admit I think they are cool. In fact I just got pink powerchain on top and ping ligs on the bottom. My co worker who is in her 40's was sitting in a retaurant and a gentleman came over on his way out and commented that he thought her braces were very sexy!!
