bands

#1 Post by workingmomma »

Hi ya'll,

The OD said at the initial consult that I would have to wear bands. When do they usually start with the elastics?

Thanks,

Hi Workingmomma
From reading these posts everyone is different. Some wear elastics from day one and others not til months later. Also most folks seem to wear their elastics 24/7 but I only wear mine at night. I got my first triangle elastics after eight weeks. Wore those for 10 months and now I wear the class II elastics that go from the upper canines to the lower second to last molar.

I got my elastics last week so 5 mths in. I have to wear 4 elastics to fix my overbite. I heard really bad things but mine do not hurt at all. Only thing that is a pain is they have rubbed the inside of my cheek but its feeling better now.

oh, i am not looking forward to the elastics but i have a feeling they will be in my future though the ortho has not mentioned it so far. i do hope i can get away with only wearing them at night, though i will be doing whatever is necessary to get out of braces soonest possible. :|
