Help wire snapped!!!

#1 Post by senate »

At work this afternoon I noticed and felt that the wire on my left side was curved bending out towards my cheek. I have a gap there which is being closed and the wire goes across it. I just felt it and it snapped just where it connects to the metal bracket going around my molar. I phoned the ortho but it was shut. There was another number for a emergency NHS 8-8 place but I can't call untill tomorrow. I'm working too 7:25am till 19:40pm cause i work long days when Im on shift. I could try to go on my break but I don't know if an NHS place can do anything. If at best I can't get seen by my proper ortho till Monday will this set me back a lot?

I'm so annoyed at myself I really didn't put pressure on it. I just felt it cause it was bent. I have so far only had one adjustment and been in braces since mid Jan. The original wire has not yet been changed.

If its not hurting you, waiting until Monday won't set back your braces time. It's only 2 days. Don't stress too much, orthos know that accidents happen

Thank you for reply and no It doesn't hurt. How do I even explain it though, Oh I just touched it and it snapped! Do you think it was the pressure or maybe hot drinks that caused the wire to warp? I use a straw at home but I don't at work.
