Metal Band Coming Off

#1 Post by Mazly007 »

Ok world, this is my dilemma.

I travel for work. I have been out of state all this week, flying back home late tomorrow night. I leave again Sunday morning and don't return till late next Thursday night. My orthodontist office is closed on Fridays and weekends. This means that I cannot be seen until Monday, 4/30/2012, which happens to be the date of my next adjustment.

I am pretty sure that the band on my right back molar shifted earlier this week because my tooth has been hurting, the band has been cutting my tongue up, and the band looks like it's sitting a little higher on my tooth.

Do I 1) continue to cover the sucker in wax, 2) Call the emergency number for my orthodontist office for advice, or 3) Call the orthodontist on Monday morning for advice?

Thanks!

I'd go for option 2 myself...maybe something can be suggested to push the band back on (or even fully remove it if feasible) and have it properly reinstalled at your next appointment.

My $0.02...;)
