I'm in the same boat as you folks...had the brackets on my top teeth installed on April 16 and my archwire was installed today. My right incisor is in a fair bit of pain at the moment, but the other teeth are only aching slightly.

Good luck to us all as we all start on this journey... :D

Congrats on taking this huge step! I am 36 and getting my braces in two short weeks and reading these posts is really keeping me informed about what to expect. Hope all is going smoothly for you and you keep us up to date!

Well, hello!

I had my Six Month Smiles put on Thursday 19th, so just a couple of days after you.

I've been very lucky pain-wise. The teeth didn't hurt at any stage, although if I bite down on them they feel sore, and brushing for the first couple of days was also a bit hard as they felt a bit sore then.

I feel the constant pressure, particularly in my lower jaw, but it is not a bad feeling.

I'm still lisping a bit, though, if I try to talk fast. I have to really concentrate and speak slowly if I don't want to lisp.
