Welcome, clairebear! It's great that you're finally getting started on the road to straight teeth. I have a similar situation in that my dentist has told me that I could benefit from braces for the past several years, but I just got underway a few weeks ago. I with now I hadn't put it off so long, but I'm glad I'm heading in the right direction now.

I look forward to reading about your experience with braces. Keep us posted!

I was always paranoid about my spacers falling out. It is normal, though, for the top of them to be slightly above the molar. When i bit down on them it felt like I was chewing on rubber. None of mine ever fell out. Unless it actually does come out you should be in good shape.

Congratulations Clairbear :) Your colour choice sounds amazing!
Unfortunately my orthodontist only ever gives me the silver o-ring thingie majigies so I've never had much of a chance to experiment with colour.

How are you finding your first while in braces? Not half as bad as you thought right? ;)

Love and light

They are not bad at all... Only had a little bit of pain last night but I think that was mostly from haveing a cold more than my teeth... The only thing is eating at the mo but that should settle in the next few days... That is what my ortho said anyway... It was funny when I got them on because my 2 bottom molars are to small for the molar bands and then my top molars the right one is a size bigger than the left one
Sucks that u can't have colours... Do u have ligual braces?
Thanks :) Very happy to finally be getting on with this now :p

Good, I'm glad they're not giving you too much trouble. I was dreading brace-day, thought it would be awful, but then when I finally had them on I was like 'oh..is that all' :-* don't get me wrong, I do have my off days, but overall its a far more pleasant experience than I imagined.

Eating gets a lot (and i mean A LOT) easier. After a month or so I was eating regular foods, even steak and popcorn!! So dont worry, you'll get there soon :)
The only time I have to revert back to soft foods is a day or two after adjustments, other than that eating is no problemo.

Haha I also have a few teeth that are different sizes.. you would swear they dont belong in the same mouth they look so different! How did your ortho end up solving the molar band problem?

I have lingual braces on the top and then traditional wire ones on the bottoms.. thats where I'd liked to have tried the COLOURS :)

Keep us updated on how you go!

Eating soft stuff isn't that bad I had to for like 4 weeks when I had my wisdom teeth out... My ortho said I should be eating normally before that lol... And of cause they take time to get used 2
My teeth sizes u also u wouldnt say go in the same mouth lol... He had to glue an ending bracket thing on them on the teeth that we're to small
He said he will have to see how that goes till the next time I see him then will see if that doesn't work (espcially when I get my elastics) he isn't sure said it was rare to find such small teeth lol
I think u should ask ur ortho if u can tru colours it is alot of fun
And I will keep u updated :) thanks
