FUCNTIONAL ORTHODONTIST IN THE UK,PLEASE HELP?

sorry if this is in the wrong section but could anyone please tell me a good fucntional ortho in northern england? (west yorskhire) i have a severe over jet/overbite but i have refused jaw surgery .I have been told to ask for an appliance such as the MARA,herbst ,twin block etc. The orthodontists i spoke to wouldn't put these appliances on because they said they wouldn't work on an adult (im 24). My current ortho who i consulted with wanted to extract teeth and use braces but i have been told that it can make things worse.I want to improve my overall appearance/health not just straighten my teeth. I know there would be a greater outcome with surgery but im happy to settle for an appliance instead,i just cant stand the thought of surgery.Please help,i would appreciate it so much

I'm afraid I can't help you in finding an orthodontist who will treat with functional appliances, but if you manage to find one, would love to know how you go. I am very hesitant about having jaw surgery and would much prefer to use appliances. I have however, also been advised that appliances are not effective on adults
