Thanks Colbrit7, I am really pleased with the progress so far and was great to hear from my ortho on Saturday that it looks like I will be finishing early. I am definitely going to miss my gaps but at the same time it has been amazing watching them slowly getting smaller and smaller. The only thing I am not happy with is that from these pics it is so noticeable how yellow my teeth have gotten. I hope when the braces are off they will start looking white again. Hey, I would prefer have them yellow and straight than white and crooked anyway :)

Hi Jem, it's amazing when I compare these pics how much progress can be seen. I am sure yours are going nicely as well. I blv you might be having an adjustment sometime this week? Do you know how much longer you will need to wear them as if I remember correctly you only had a 6 - 9 mos sentence. Looking forward to seeing some new pics of yours soon :)

Hi Kellyb,

Not much happening at the moment. My powerchain seems to have transferred the space created by IPR to between my left central and left incisor which is where it was needed. I was going to post a picture of the gap but had the same problem posting as you. Despite the space being where it needs to be, the left lateral does not seem to be accepting the invitation to move into it and I guess my ortho will come up with a different variation on the powerchain next time to encourage it in the right direction. My right central and left premolar seem to have been pushed too far inwards, but no doubt they will be brought back into line by the stiffest wires when I am closer to finishing.

On Friday I will be 7 months into my supposed 6-9 month estimate. My next adjustment is 7 August which is not too far off. I will try to post some pics then.

Looks great Kelly :-)

Have you had many/any issues with clear powerchain staining?

I have clear ligs and within the next couple of months I think I will be getting my powerchain and just worry they won't be as good at resisting stains like my ligs are!

Jem: good luck with your adjustment next week. I am sure your ortho will sort out those little niggles and all will be well. As you know I have always been complimenting you on how great looking your teeth were to begin with and I probably wouldnt bother with braces if I had great teeth as yours :D . I see no reason why you should exceed your 6 - 9 mos sentence so I bet you will be debraced before October :D . Perhaps you can ask your ortho for a rough idea at your next visit. Pls keep me updated on the adjustment.

Angel269: Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately just like the clear ligs the powerchains do stain. You really have to make some wise food choices. Though only had my adjustment on Saturday, I already kinda messed mine up as I had some chicken Saturday and Sunday which I didnt think would cause a problem. Unfortunately when I looked on the powerchains Sunday afternoon they were already slightly discoloured. I even had some curry yesterday as I thought no point depriving myself when I have already messed them up. I am free to walk into my ortho office anytime to change the ligs or powerchains so I think I will definitely have to do so within the next couple of weeks as my next adjustment is not until 01st September.

NICURN85: Thanks for your comments. I will definitely keep you guys updated. Watch this space!

Hi Kellyb,

This is one of my pics from about a week ago taken from left of centre which shows my recently created gap and gives a better idea of the movement still required to get my incisors into place.

Hi Kellyb,

I risked a curry for my birthday on Friday knowing that I have an adjustment on Tuesday. My powerchain is now a pretty horrible yellow as people have warned, but is still not particularly noticeable as the chain is quite short and placed behind my archwire. But I don't think I'll be having any curry again for a while!

Jem, lucky you who already had an adjustment planned. You are definitely in a better position for me. I have totally messed up lol. On the way home from my adjustment on 28th July I bought some peri peri chicken from one of the UK supermarkets and had that the same day and the day after. Didn't expect it at all. Powerchains were slightly yellow from the Sunday afternoon. Then on Monday my mom-in-law sent me curry which I had Monday - Wednesday. I should have known better but seeing they were already in a bad state I thought why not just have the curry. You don't want to see the state of them now lol. I will definitely not be having anymore curry or peri peri chicken from this supermarket unless I have an adjustment within a week. My next adjustment is on 01st September and there is no way I could keep these in my mouth until then. I feel slightly embarrassed going to see my ortho today when I only had an adjustment 9 days ago!
