Look forward to hearing from you.

Clear Aligners is that the retainer? If so then yeah i have been charged for that.
Re: Inman aligners
Hi Oscar
Is this simply to hold teeth in position and to wear at night only or is this to assist with moving teeth a bit more?

Re: Inman aligners
I'm about to arrange visits with dentists to assess suitability for the IA on both upper and lower front teeth.
Can anyone recommend a dentist/ortho they've had good IA experience with in London (preferably SW or central) - also, roughly what cost would I be looking at.
I was recently preparing a photobook of a bunch of travels, and my wonky front teeth really started to bug me (always have done, but it really is quite obvious in photos - particularly side on) I'm almost 30 so I think it is time I just got on and dealt with this - and IA sounds like a good option, as there is no way I want to spend 2 years + with braces, not a good look in your 30s!
Any advice would be much appreciated. It seems like a lot of dentists are now offering IA's and I don't want to be someones guinea pig!!

Re: Inman aligners
Hello Yes i have paid for my clear aligners (not retainers) i will get one of these though once everything is in place. The clear aligners are a method similar to invisalign and inman aligner can only in fact manouver teeth to align them but not necessarily for little niggles we have after its done the bulk of the movement so in with my cost I had palatal fan screw expander, Inman aligner, clear aligners once inman has done its all, also teeth whitening included and either a plastic retainer, or bonded wire, whatever i fancy. So if your ortho has said thats the best that can be done thats not true as a lot of orthos use this method to reach perfection, i had 3 consultaions an they all said the same thing, so i thought it was pretty standard?
hope everyones treatments going well!!

Re: Inman aligners
Hi, I am now on week 3, yah.
I found the first 4 days pretty hard but then it has just got better, my speech is still slurred/lispy but no more head aches or tender teeth. I now wear it all the time I can which is about 20 hours a day. I just take it out for client meetings but wear it out and about. I still feel self conscious especially when I talk but realise that the more I wear it the quicker this will be over. I had my first fortnightly check up with my dentist and he is really pleased. My teeth have started moving and he had to file again so something must be happening. I can't say I can see any change but I know my lateral incisor and canine need to move so that my central incisor can move back. I probably won't start seeing anything for quite a few weeks yet. The only thing I have noticed is the the front bar can now sit across the centre of my teeth rather than the top so my front tooth must have moved back a little :)
Anyone who is just starting out ... it does get better!

Re: Inman aligners
Hi Vicky, how much did your clear aligner cost?
Re: Inman aligners
hi everyone,
got my retainers today..invisalign type. so much better than the IA.
..mater33.
my retainers are really tight, my dentist says this will help the final millimetre of movement, i have to wear them all the time
apart from eating. My teeth do hurt a little when i take the retainer out.
i think this will be the same for you..

Re: Inman aligners
when you get the retainers do they give you 3 retainers? you wear 1 for 2 weeks, the next one for 2 weeks and the last one for 2 weeks then on nights only?
Or do they give you just one retainer?
Or do they give you just one retainer?
Re: Inman aligners
88oscar,
i have been given only one retainer, the dentist says i will wear this for 3 months. then further moulds will be taken
to get the next retainer.

Re: Inman aligners
Just got out of dentists! 21 weeks later and I finally am finished with my IA I have the bonded wire behind teeth which is fine. Less annoying than composites. And I have a clear plastic retainer that I have to wear all the time for 3 months then at nights for ever but limiting to 2/3 nights a week after 18 months. So happy with my teeth although I don't feel like celebrating finishing my treatment because I now have to wear retainer all day so I'm still not free lol. But I'm definitely happy with the results and would definitely recommend it to everyone xxx

Hi lfkat1
Great thanks, how much does the retainer type invasalign thingy hurt in comparison to the IA? Does the tight feeling wear off after a few days and have you notice any final changes yet?
I get mine a week today but im a bit pessamistic that it wont work, after my dentist filed my teeth the gap he created only closed up by half and i hate it. Thanks
