Hey you!
Glad to know you're faring well.
No, I don't have any powerchains yet. When he and I talked about them back just before I got my braces put on, he said that he would give me about three months to adjust to having braces, then he'd likely put them on then. I go back to see him for an adjustment in mid-December so I am planning on bringing it up with him again. When I first talked to him about them I told him that I really did not want any. He seemed fairly reluctant to agree to my request but like he was open to discussion about it. So, we'll see. He did tell me though that I would need to wear elastics at some point but none of the brackets that were put on at the end of October have elastic hooks so I don't know if that means he changed his mind or if, like one of the other members on this forum said, they are going to be added at a later date.
I've been having a fair bit of pain today with my front teeth so all I can surmise is that means they are moving. I've seen a little bit of closure of the space but nothing to get too excited about yet. So, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what he says about the progress I've made when I see him again. Soon.....
Take care!

Oh well wishing you the best of luck with your progress and upcoming adjustments.

I think at some point almost everyone wears elastics. From what i have gathered they are to align or finish align your upper and lower jaw (bite)

Because if they shift around teeth in your arches more than likely there will be a mismatch in your bite and so elastics will be required to fix the problems.

Anyways. Best of luck again.

And keep in touch. I will update my pictures after my appointment on 5.12.12

So stay tuned....lol

Hi Nikki,
Thanks for your explanation. Yes, I really didn't know about that, so it's good to know.
I'll be looking forward to seeing your newly posted pics in December. I'm going to post some new pics after I go in for my first adjustment. I hope there will be a noticeable difference but who knows, right?
Take care!

No, of course I wouldn't hold you to that! I know you're just voicing your opinion.
Yes, I'm hoping that he'll say I've been doing great!! when I see him the next time. Here's hoping!

So just had another adjustment...

Will post pics later this evening when i get home. (im at work and they have site restrictions here)

But all went well... The pain is getting more and more bearable. I still feel it...but its like a dull pain in the background.

Thats all to tell now....
Oh and right after i had an adjustment i had curry for lunch (i so did not think this through)
Oh well such is life...I'll use some baking powder in my waterpic tonight and I have a cleaning scheduled tomorrow so hopefully it'll be back to nice and pink by the end of the week..No more curry for me....want to have a nice pink smile for new years :D

Hi Nikki,
I'm hanging in there. Feeling very frustrated because I haven't been sleeping well at all because of all the teeth clenching I've been doing at night. It is still waking me up about 2 or 3 times each night. PLUS when I wake up in the morning, I have a horrendous headache. But, thanks for asking. I'm going back to see him on December 17th and I'm really hoping he'll be able to help me find some kind of solution because I'm very unhappy now. I haven't had a decent night sleep in a few months because of all the anxiety I was having before I got my braces put on and now this! It's been very upsetting for me.
Other than that, though, I'm fine. I'm starting to see just a wee bit of difference in my front teeth and so that's very encouraging! Your teeth look just wonderful!

Oh hi CC!

It has been awhile. How are things with you? Its been awhile since I've gotten updates from u as well.
Thank u for ur comments... I am amazed as well. I sometimes can't believe that nearly 6months ago my teeth looked like that....

I love the pink too but I was hoping for a darker pink but they were out. I guess next visit.

Oh and Dee I hope things get better for you... my aunt has braces too and it took her way longer to get used to them. She Had them for 1year now and she still cant get used to them whereas I had them for only six months n sometimes I 4get I have them on....she frequently takes pain pills because of home much pain it causes her. Whereas after d 1st day I''ve never really had a need for pills. But hang in there.

Hopefully the ortho can recommend some remedies to the clenching. I did that in d beginning too but not as bad as yours sounds. I would wake up in d morning with jaw pain but it went away after a couple of months.

Chao for now.
