Hiiiiiii, everyone.

I'm 31 and close to getting braced. I FINALLLY finished all of my dental work today, and I have my appt Monday with the ortho to do records, xrays, etc.

I've been self-conscious about my teeth since I was a teen. Some people made fun of me and even as an adult, I've gotten a few snide remarks. I cringe anytime people start talking about how disgusting someone's teeth are in my presence.

Well, my insurance changed suddenly in the middle of the year, and I now have some orthodontic coverage so I decided to just do it. I went to my consult and found out that my teeth were way worse than i thought....overbite, overjet, crowding, spacing, crossbite. I just thought my teeth were crooked lol.

So here I am. I'll be poor, but at least my teeth will be better. I'm way too fabulous for my teeth to hold me back like they have been.

Yes I did! It all went by pretty fast though. The whole time I was there I kept thinking to myself that I couldn't believe I was actually going through with it.

I HAVE A BRACE DATE. January 16th.

Apparently, the lady didn't set the rest of my appointments after my consultation so I'm having to wait a month. I was assured that if anybody cancelled, I'd be called first.

Congrats! I am 30 and just got mine on as well. I know what that waiting game is like.... I ended up needing a ton of fillings before I could have my braces on. It took me about six months from my first consult until when I could get my braces on. The wait sucked! I had mine put on 4 days ago... my only advice is to eat lots of apples and bite into lots of sandwiches. I already miss it!! haha!

Hello there! you make me laugh lol and with all the obstacles of braces .. we all need a good laugh on a regular basis! I have a few more weeks until I am officially braced the time seems to be going in reverse but it will get here eventually . For now I am amusing myself in trying to decide what color ligs I will get .. I figure at 40 people are gonna notice .. might as well have a little fun with it!!

Pretty sure I was told projected treatment time but I didn't listen and retain it. Complicated is written on all of my charts lol ...I'm sure I won't finish any quicker than two years.

It took three weeks for some ppl to notice mine. I'm positive there are others who still haven't noticed.

I was embarrassed to get braces because I would be admitting that my mouth was a mess. That all went away as soon as I got them lol

I haven't had too many issues. Back to eating normally with a few exceptions.

I LOVE the changes I feel in my mouth. Even when I means I can't eat properly because a set of teeth are wobbly and tender.
I totally do not regret this decision.
