It will happen....honest! Just when you think nothing is moving..BAM! You'll see when you start wearing them continually. It is uncomfortable at first, I agree (I not only got the elastics but also power chains the same day......oh what fun those first few days......). Give them a chance and see what happens! I just switched my configuration to regular class II (upper canines to lower molars), and went up to Moose elastics (5/16", 6oz). Now every time I open or close my jaw, those elastics rub on my canines and make that telltale creaking sound. I hate it. I don't know if others can hear it, but it's pretty audible to me.
Sure sign you're getting old, when you creak when opening your mouth!
That noise was keeping me up last night! Everytime I got half to sleep I would hear it and think my teeth themselves were creaking. Freaked me out! It's a horrible noise!
I got my elastics after having my surgery and I'm hating them! Got 5 of them at the moment - 3 on one side, 1 right in the front/middle and one on the other side. Not sure what the strength is but they are 'red'. The position they seem to be moving my teeth into means hat two of my teeth 'clash' whenever I swallow too hard and it really really hurts when that happens! They also mean that when I'm wearing them I can't open my mouth at all which I hate.
Like others I have no idea how they are going to do whatever it is they are meant to be doing but hopefully they will. Guess i'm stuck with them until the end of my treatment now!
