I've been wondering about those Boost or Ensure shakes. Do they keep you full at all or do they just give you the nutrients that maybe you have been missing out on by not really eating? I might try some ahead of time.

MrsCharisma, your braces look great, by the way! I hope mine look that good! I have a gap too but my K-9 teeth are pushed out so they probably won't look as good but you can barely see yours! Are you going to get any colored bands on your clears on top?

I've been thinking about how remote you are and how you've been so good at thinking ahead. Here is a list of items I found for emergencies. I added a couple of my own just because I've tended to have more issues than many.

orthodontic relief wax
Dental floss
Sterile tweezers (I like the tweezerman slanted kind)
Salt
Interproximal brush
Non-prescription pain reliever (acetaminophen or ibuprofen or any over-the-counter medication typically used for a headache)
Oral topical anesthetic (such as Orabase or Ora-Gel)
lighted dental mirror (I found one cheap at a grocery store. There are some cheap ones on the internet.)
dental wire clippers or some sharp fingernail clippers (In case you get a really pokey wire. Wires can slide occassionally. Mostly it happens when teeth shift and the wire gets too long.)

Braces as Phase II treatment for TMJD.
Lower mandibular repositioning splint 26 months.
Lower braces on 10.75 months into Phase II treatment.
Duration in braces: 2 years, 2 weeks, 5 days
Removal of Braces: September 18, 2013

TMJD treatment now complete!
