I had to wear mine for three weeks. It was hell! I did get used to them around the second week though, but hopefully you won't have to wear them that long...

i have had my spacers in for 2 weeks and I still cannot chew things like steak or chicken and I can JUST chew bread on one side of my mouth. Basically i have just been biting small bits and swallowing! not good for my tummy, i have had a few tummy and digestive issues not sure if it is cos of that or not. I couldnt eat much at all the first week but this second week i have been eating bread, lasagne, meatballs, hot cross buns, and attempted crackers but it takes me like 15 minutes to eat ONE hahaha.

I can't feel my spacers in my mouth much anymore, sometimes a bit of pressure but not alot. but my teeth are still very tender...

they come out tuesday thank god but then i get an upper lingual arch with a nance button. I am thinking that is not going to be fun either lol, then 5 teeth out... then braces probably 15th March.

Hope your pain goes away, i found that nerofen really helped!! after about a week you should be able to at least eat bread with no crust :) or suck the bread like i did to begin with lol :)

I had spacers in for two weeks. There were four in total, two on each side of my upper jaw. It was HORRIBLE. I ate soft food for the entire time because each time I ate something firm, it pushed onto my gums causing pain.
I still say that the spacer pain was worse than any braces pain i've had.

You can try bonjella or ulcer gel, that stuff is awesome but if you can get through this, you'll be fine. Good luck!

chewing through the tenderness actually helps, and if you can do that they won't hurt at all after the first few days.

Continuously till the braces went on. Over a week as I recall. This time I expect the same. :!:

I would've stuffed my face with food the moment I got my spacers, if not for the fact that I was biting on blood-soaked gauze after extracting 2 teeth.

Spacers are used before getting molar bands put in right? Does the gap where the molar band used to be just disappear after the braces/molar band gets removed?

Never really thought about that! Hmm, anyone have any insight to this?

Crap I was brushing my teeth and one of my spacers dislodged and I swallowed it ): my appointment is only on Friday and I hope the space doesn't close up ):
