I have had my top ceramics on for 5-6 days ( braced morning of the 16th) My right front incisor has always stuck out a bit more than the other and slightly rotated out...this is what bothered me the most about my teeth. I have noticed today on closer inspection (forever in the mirror at the moment! )that it appears as though I have a slightly wider gap between the two front teeth and that bothersome tooth is sticking out slightly more than it was?! I'm a little worried about this...but I'm guessing things usually do look worse before they get better right?!

Yes, often things get worse before they get better unless all your teeth are wacky to begin with in which case there can be an amazing amount of straightening in a short time period. For many of us, gaps open up where we never had them before and overjet can become more pronounced as they open up your bite in the beginning. Don't fret it.
Thanks guys...I wasn't really warned about this happening so it is a little alarming! I guess having some movement after only 6 days is pretty amazing...even if they don't appear to be going in the 'right' direction yet!

Weird things can happen. My fairly even top incisors have become jagged. One tooth that appeared higher or shorter than the adjacent tooth is now longer than that tooth. It's like one of those wacky tourist traps where balls roll uphill....
Same experience. That jagged stage was really surprising. I kept thinking that the edges of my teeth had been pretty even and then nothing seemed to match up. I was thinking the ortho would have to shave substantially the edges of every tooth at the end of treatment. Soon after I got my first SureSmile wire the edges all began to align.

I am two and a half weeks in currently with Damon's and my bottom teeth were pretty straight to begin with but we're braced anyways of course. They are now starting to noticeably face all different directions and are doing that crooked on top look. I'm relieved to see this post and that others have experienced that jagged look...hopefully it goes just as quickly as it came. Thanks for the reassurance, I'm really needing it at the moment.

Because my right canine is behind the rest of my teeth, my two front teeth were pulled back. So my smile looks tilted. So yes, for the dirt 4 months my teeth did look a lot worst than it was before extractions and braces
I have a coil spring on lower arch to make room for a wayward tooth that was slanted in - the idea to make more room and then be able to wire it in with the rest.
As the coil spring is pushing the other teeth apart those that were looking nice and straight are now all crooked and pushed up tight onto each other.... urgh... it s a horrid stage, but I have faith that 'they will look worse before better'
Can't wait for the next ortho appt so the tooth can get sorted and the others straighten out... again!
Ughh yes. I was pleasantly surprised to see movement 9 hours after I got my braces on! Not so pleasant to see that it created a gap right next to my big gap! (I already have a gap in my 2 front teeth.) The new gap was created as one of my teeth rotated into the straight correct spot. Since then it has gotten bigger and looks worse. ehh. Makes me feel like I have a snaggle tooth but I know it will get better.
Yes they do. My months 2-3 stages were awful because the force needed to pull my lateral forward pulled my front tooth backwards. My front teeth were way more crooked at that stage than when I started. Now... moving towards month 4, my teeth are straighter than ever!
