I'm in SL braces so I haven't gotten to play around much with color. My first power chains, they automatically did clear.

This last time, I asked for the light blue. I love the color. I've found you can't see it unless you are really really looking closely. It might be a good choice in place of the smoke.

I did get navy for a few weeks. I found I really did like it. I'm not sure I'll have the power chains on much longer though so I won't have much opportunity to experiment.

My arch has widened significantly. I didn't realize until recently that instead of 6 upper teeth showing in my smile, I can actually see 8 of them. I didn't think my smile was crowded in the first place, but now I'm thinking it is looking nice. Those in-between times are a pain though. I just developed a significant gap on my right side which is supposed to be 'finished" already. I know I've gotta keep faith in the treatment though.

I have SL on top too so don't have colours (no powerchains on the top, only had them on the bottom). I might try the light blue if I keep having this chain :) I have ligs on the bottom though so I guess I can choose light blue ligs if they remove my chain.

My smile has never been crowded. I have the opposite problem, not enough teeth, so I guess my mouth has always been a bit narrower than it should be due to lack of teeth. Glad your smile is widening :D It's exciting to see good changes!

And yep, hang in there! My daughter had some crowding going on last month as well as a gap and it's all perfect now. So much so that they're taking them off in 2 more months, just doing some finishing touches :)

It is :) And lol, I know!!! I realized this morning that the assistant got out smoke chains for the top row as well as the smoke powerchain. I obviously need to be really specific. I usually get clear on the top. The smoke makes my teeth look a weird shade of grey :| Thank goodness it's only a month before I go in again this time, not 2 months like last adjustment!

I did figure out if you stain your ligs/powerchain, swishing with 3% hydrogen peroxide then brushing (just once, it's abrasive) with baking soda and peroxide mixed together helps a bit. Tastes like puke though :FeelSick:

I will have to remember that. Thanks for taking one for the team!
I feel like I have no good food in my house that I can eat. Good as in junk. My husband suggested I eat cheese puffs but I was afraid of staining with bright orange.

Lol, you're welcome ;)

And not sure how they'd go. I have eaten cheese corn chips without a problem (actually I've eaten turmeric in things without a problem, I guess it depends on how much of it is in the curry as to whether or not it stains).

Hmmm what about baking something yummy? Microwave mug cake? With ice cream? Choc. chip cookies? (Actually I think it was you who said you baked some with walnuts? I want choc chip cookies now......might have to go dig out my melt in the mouth recipe for them :paperbag: )

Hi gorgeous  Lol, me too!!! I tried to eat healthy last night, made some chicken breast and veggies, then slathered a huge dollop of whole fat mayo on the plate  Still haven't bought Ben and Jerry's. I found it at the local 7-11 but it was like $8 or something for a tub that looked like it had 2 bites in it so I passed (plus I wanted some peanut brittle one and I knew it'd break my braces!)

All is good :) Have detailed at large in my PM :P Hope I don't scare you off :paperbag:

Teethy pegs are boring. Have had a few sore molars, not seen any changes and have started peerring in and hating the shape of my teeth and thinking they're never going to go together and look good anyway  I'm sure it's all part of the process!

xx

Hi everyone. I'm still alive! Sorry I haven't been around too much. School holidays = busier than usual and I'm feeling a little disheartened about my teeth at the moment :( My 14 year old told me the other day that my teeth don't look any different (only children can be brutally honest and get away with it :P) but I think she's right. My top gap has closed but the bottom is flat out refusing to budge (I am being patient, but close already!!!) and my top and bottom midlines are so way out I don't know that they're ever going to match up (will definitely be bringing this up with my ortho next appointment!)

I made a collage of pics, the top when I first got my braces on and then today's pictures. For the most part they look the same to me (sigh). Maybe I just expected things to look better at this point than what they do given that I had no real major problems? My gap from my extraction has closed a bit though which I am happy about. I don't like the shape of my front teeth at all (picky picky I know! I should just be happy my gap is gone). Just feeling like I potentially wasted a whole lot of money and shouldn't have bothered this week (aren't you all glad I checked in? :P).

Nothing much going on with the braces. Still in that boring phase where nothing much is happening. They're still driving me nuts 60% of the time and I still cannot wait for them to come off. Nothing has really been hurting this month except for my front teeth which has been very on and off and an ulcer keeps threatening the front part of my lip but has not actually developed into one yet (yay!). Seeming to be managing to chew pretty much anything and everything these days. Steak is still a challenge but do-able.

Anyway, enough whinging from me. Updated pics (which is why most of us come into other people's threads in the first place and I've been crazy lazy!) Not liking my smoke power chain at all and can't wait to go back to silver if I get another one! Tired of the mini chains at the top. They rub like crazy and are super annoying. Sadly I think they're here to stay for a while yet.

So current pics:

Thanks for listening to my ranting!

Hi Tobelei,
I've also not been on the board much because it is hard for to type on this little iPad keyboard. But I think your teeth have changed a lot since you got your braces. One of the spaces on the top has closed and so has the space between your front incisors. At least that's what I'm seeing. Hang in there, girlfriend. I think you're just hitting some kind of mid-treatment valley.

Hi Tobilei, sorry to hear you are having some concerns about your progress. I think we all believe that progress towards a great final result is a straight line but the reality is that we have some periods when we think it looks worse than it actually is as teeth move a little this way and that way in preparation for where they are going to end up. I have some gaps opening up which I know will be closed again sometime in the future so hang in there, it will get better.
