24 Years Old & Thank Goodness I have Braces :D

Hey everyone! I just got my braces on 3 days ago and I couldn't be any happier about that fact! All through my middle/junior/high school days I was really self-conscious about my smile. It always put a drain on my self-esteem and I dreaded meeting new people because I knew that quickly they would see my teeth and make a judgement. But now I'm the process on having a confident, great smile I'm hurting real bad right now but I really don't care because in the end it'll all be worth it! I would posts pics but I can't :/

I'm also a few days in and have the same attitude. They hurt and it's annoying but it will be worth it!

That's such a long time from now! Why do you have to wait so long? I went in last Tuesday, then the following Thursday I had them on.

I have to get my wisdom teeth out and a baby tooth taken out before the braces go on. My extractions are scheduled for Aug 22nd. I wanted to get braces sooner (just want it done already lol) but that was the earliest I could get my extractions.

Good old fashioned metal ones I think I am going to get teal ligs too... I figure if I am going to have metal in my mouth I might as well rock them in style

I've got all metal ones too I figured there's no point in hiding them. I heard from a few people (My sister being one of them. She's 26 and got ceramic tops and metal bottoms about a week before me) that they're self-conscious about the fact that they have braces. I think it shows that you care a lot about your appearance and were willing to pay the $$$$ for it. So I commend people with braces, especially adults.

The quality of my recent pictures have kind of half-a$$ed, so I think I'm going to try a little harder to document my progress. Lets try this again:

Im so happy we are all on the road to beautiful smiles. Its very rewarding when the changes start happening. I must also mention...that the wait to see progress can become demotivating. But take regular pictures and keep them close. Then you will see changes and it will just inspire you again.

As for the poky ends of the wires, well they are an absolute nightmare. Hope you are all enjoying this ride for the moment. This is a roller coaster ride. One day you feel good and the next you feel like its just not coming together. Hang in there......dont know what it might look like tomorrow morning. Today is a blessing, Tomorrow is a mystery.

2 1/2 Months down here are some picssss
Pics on the left are 3-weeks in with braces. I got a new wire placed on my top row while the bottom row has since stayed the same.
