Mommy Metal Mouth at 36.
Hi All! I am a 36 year other wife and mom to two amazing girls. I had a lot of orthodontic work done when I was in my very early teens. I think I had my braces removed when I was about 14. When I was 10 or 11 I had a lot of crowing in my mouth and my dentist pulled 4 teeth. Pulling my teeth at this young age, caused my lower jaw to never fully develop properly and left me with a pretty big overbite. The crowding returned, the overbite go worse and in my 20's a visited a new ortho who told me that I had to have jaw surgery to correct my bite. I chickened out of the surgery and have lived with regret ever since. In October of last year, I visited a new ortho to find out if he could improved my bite and teeth without surgery. This ortho said that he could never make it perfect but could give me an 80% improvement by widening my arch, moving my upper tetth back and my lower teeth forward. After a few rounds of gum surgery to correct some periodontal issues, I got braced on Thursday. I have clear on the top and nothing on the bottom right now. I am cautiously optimistic that the result will be good enough to make me feel much better about my smile. Will post pics as soon as I have access. Looking forward to having support from you guys on this journey

Hello, I'm 32, mother of 4 girls, and just got my braces 10 weeks ago. Things are going good so far, I made it past my spacers, back braces, and top braces. I go this Thursday for my bottoms! I'm sure you will be pleased with the end result, braces are some kind of magic, I swear, lol. My teeth are very crooked, but just in 10 week I notice big changes. Good luck to you, I will post pics ASAP!

As a newbie to the forum myself, I'm glad to see other moms out there going through this! I was feeling self-conscious for a while.

Oh me too! Especially because my 14 year old is in them too so when we smile together we're both brace faces!tangledgurl wrote:As a newbie to the forum myself, I'm glad to see other moms out there going through this! I was feeling self-conscious for a while.
