Hi all,
I finally have my consultation on Saturday at an orthodontist that can supply lingual braces!
I'm a 28 year old chap from Windsor and have had pretty bad teeth from early teens to now, only recently have i decided i have (hopefully) enough to afford braces. I did initially think about the Invisalign but having known someone who has them they don't look to appealing to me. I'm looking to get upper and lower ones fitted, i will just have to wait and see what cost they throw at me for the privilege!
I've not had much luck finding an average cost but i know it's hard to considering it's done by case to case estimates. I've anticipated between £3-5000 though so hopefully it's in that area.
I'll post back after the consultation on what i decided to do and at what cost.
Any tips or advice on what to ask before then would be great.
Thanks,
Carl.

Care to elaborate ? Have you had a bad experience with linguals or braces in general?
Re: Got my consultation on Saturday!
I know my lingual uppers made my treatment cost about $700 more (US) than ceramic uppers would have cost. Not sure if that is a normal upcharge. I was quoted for regular metal labial braces on the bottom in both scenarios, so I'm sure if you wanted ceramics on the bottom, or linguals, the price will go up more .
So far, I'm really excited to have braces. Even though I'm having surgery soon, and I also have an expander in my mouth which makes it hard to talk and eat. I'm a couple of weeks in, having my first surgery on the 18th, and feeling really good about it.
I 100% disagree with the last poster. Braces are worth it, (regular, lingual, whatever) and I'm only sorry that I couldn't have this done when I was a kid (b/c my parents couldn't afford it).
Good luck!

Re: Got my consultation on Saturday!
Seems like tne 2nd poster is a bit of a troll....5 posts and most of them involve removal of braces etc.
Anyway, congratulations! Braces can suck at times but I've no doubt they're worth it. My daughters teeth have changed so much over 10 months. Let us know how you go when they're on I look forward to seeing your progress. I would have like linguals but they weren't offered to me (not sure I could have afforded them....but I would have loved them if I could).

I figured as much! he seems to have been banned now.
ANYway i had my initial consultation earlier and it went well. Was told i'm suitable for upper and lower lingual braces which is great. She did say i was missing a tooth which concerned her and i need to have an x-ray next week to find out if a tooth is up there somewhere or if i had it out when i was younger.
I was given the full total price upfront of £6995, having an anticipated cost between £5-8000 i'm happy to pay it. Luckily i have the bulk of that saved up and the rest i get to pay over a payment plan.

I was quoted 10,000 in the US. I thought it was too much and I gave up. Considering getting regular braces instead.
