Yay! I got my braces off this morning!!! How exciting! Whoever said it's quick and painless is a damn liar, though! Maybe it's because I'm super sensitive, but getting the ceramic braces off my top front four teeth hurt like heck. Obviously, it was totally worth it to get them off, but I wasn't expecting pain! My teeth are so much whiter than I was expecting them to be, it's crazy! I just had lunch and it was so awesome being able to eat without getting stuff stuck in my braces. I have a hawley retainer and I already hate it, lol. It's quite bulky and hard to talk with it in. I'm sure I'll get used to it, though.
Since I'm brace free I can finally show you guys my face! Here's my before and after!

Agreed. I didn't know when the assistant took off the brackets from my bottom teeth, but the upper teeth really hurt. I jumped each time she took a bracket off.
Are you supposed to wear your retainers only at night? BTW Congratulations!

I'm glad I wasn't alone in pain! I definitely jumped and I may or may not have cried a little bit. Lol.
I have to wear my retainers all the time except when eating for the next 6 months and then I can go to nights only.
For me it wasn't the bracket removal as much as the glue removal. That was pretty bad for me. So bad that I sweat profusely and was worried about my entire back or my clothes being soaked through when I got up. I was wet all over, and it was noticeable, nobody said anything. I said how much the glue removal hurt my very sensitive teeth, but it didn't take a long time, so that was good.
