Re: 1st Adjustment with pics
Thanks CC. OMG u think my teeth are clean? Ok thanks i'll take that compliment bcuz i think they look stained too me.
Prob its the colour of the ligs or the lightening in the pic makes them look like that? idk
I also drink alot of tea.
Sorry i took so long to post these pics. Tis was from my adjustment ion August 20th, 2013.
so as you can see (I hope) i got a wire power change thingy on my lower arch front six i think. I had them on my uppers for a long while now.
But yeah...thats all that is new.
My midline is still off on my upper arch but i see he shifted to make space to aligning it correctly. So im all good.
Thats all for now... My next adjustment is next week (10.09.2013)
So ill update you guys then..Take care.

I couldnt get the time to go in to the ortho to get it glued back on.
Plus my next appointment in on the 4th i think. So why go now right?

Re: 1st Adjustment with pics
I've yet to break a bracket, but I know my ortho considers a loose bracket an emergency that should be treated right away. Maybe you should double check that you're okay to wait another week??
Hope you're done "on time"!

Re: 1st Adjustment with pics
Hi Nikki! I just registered because I did a google search about braces in Trinidad and I found your story. I am thinking about getting braces, I live in Trinidad too and they are so expensive and the prices so different! The price you put in one of the threads seem reasonable. Could you please tell me the name of your ortho and location? Thanks a lot!

Hey pearlywhite. I'm sorry im just seeing your message. Idk why. I use to get an email when someone replied to my post. I dont anymore.
Anywhoo. My Ortho is Dr. Harper. Henry Street P.O.S.
His price isnt bad at all and the downpayment can be broken up into affordable payments.
Let me kno if u need more info...
Sorry again for the late reply.

Re: 1st Adjustment with pics
Hi nikki! Thanks for replying, your teeth are looking great!. A couple of people recommended Dr. Harper because he seems to be the most affordable one (is it Oliver or his brother, because I know the father used to be an ortho but I believe he is quite old now). A few questions if you do not mind answering.
1. How long will you have your braces on?
2. How much did your treatment cost? (total, in TT dollars).
3. How much was your downpayment and in how many payments you can cover the price of the downpayment?
4. How much does he charge you for the adjustment every month?
5. Did you extract any wisdom teeth or molars? Do you know by chance if he does that? :( If you did, how much was the cost? I am not afraid of the braces themselves but I am TERRIFIED of removing my wisdom teeth because one of them is buried in my gum and I know it will be very painful. :(
6. Do you know by chance if he does cleanings as well or you went to your regular dentist to do that?
7. Do you need a referral letter from your family dentist in order to get the braces?
Sorry for so many questions! Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: 1st Adjustment with pics
No problem. Oliver is my ortho. I think his father still operates as well as his brother. I believe its the 3 of them in that practice.
To answer your questions:
1.My estimation at the start was 18- 24 months. June will be two years so at my next appointment I will ask him how long again I have.
2. & 3.The total cost is somewhere around $22,000.00TTD
With a down payment of 6500.00. (I paid it in either 4/5 payments) Not too sure.
4. Monthly I pay 650.00 for adjustments ( this will add up to 22 000. Including the down payment after the estimated time)
5.no I didn't extract any wisdom teeth but I had to remove a premolar. It will depend on ur situation. Before u start braces u need to do a consult. Including x rays pixs and molds etc.. After which d ortho would come up with a treatment plan for u. When I did mine it was 500.00 and u do d scans and stuff then a week later u go back for d consult.
5. He doesn't do cleanings or general dentist stuff you would still need to go to ur regular dentist for that stuff. Also u should fix cavaties and stuff before u start braces. Also for wisdom teeth removal ull need surgery and yes I heard it's quite painful. Maybe u won't need to. I still have all my wisdom teeth. I hope I answered all ur questions.
